Je n'ai pas accroché au 2 premiers numéros. J'ai l'impression que cela sera une mini et non une on going (info que je n'avais pas).

Quel numéro frustrant que ce THREE #1. C'est clairement une mise en bouche et le prologue à la suite de cette histoire vrai se déroulant dans la Grèce antique. A travers les propos de GILLEN on voit bien tout le soin qu'il souhaite apporter à son récit à travers les multiples recherches qu'il a pu effectuer. Ici le décor est posé, les dominants et les dominés ainsi que les enjeux sont justement exposés mais il manque le fil conducteur (qui sera surement présent au prochain numéro) pour faire de ce numéro #1 une histoire qui marque. Un numéro king size aurait été préférable.
Je ferais la même remarque pour les dessins de Ryan KELLY, dont j'avais apprécié les planches en noir et blanc, qui perdent finalement un peu de force une fois mis en couleur (par contre rien à redire sur les couleurs de Jordie BELLAIRE) faisant apparaitre certaines faiblesses.

Une bonne mise en bouche pour ce qui promet d'être une bonne série historique. Je ne suis pas encore convaincu par les choix narratif et graphique sur ce numéro qui en donne au final trop peu. De plus je me suis demandé si ce THREE ne supportera pas mieux la lecture en TP qu'en single. Affaire à suivre....

Nouvelle tentative après mon impression mitigée du mois dernier et je n'ai toujours pas le coup de foudre pour cette série historique. C'est très bien documenté mais la mayonnaise ne prend pas au niveau la narration et du rythme. Kieron GILLEN a cette fois ci découpé sont récit en 2 parties distinctes : la rébellion de 3 Hilotes et cela va à toute vitesse et la réaction de Sparte où je me suis suis cultivé mais ennuyé. Au bout de 2 numéros THREE n'a toujours pas décollé et je ne sais toujours pas si Gillen souhaite se poser en professeur d'histoire (et là je dois dire que c'est assez réussi) ou bien en romancier. Le dessin de Ryan KELLY, qui est bon, ne me semble pas non plus si adapté. J'ai trouvé ces planches dans Sparte assez lourdes visuellement (tout comme les dialogues de Gillen d'ailleurs). Il y a, à mon avis, un manque évident de fluidité. On a du mal à clairement identifier les personnages ce qui n'aide pas à avoir de l'empathie pour le récit. Comme l'a signalé Leocomix ce qui m'a le plus intéressé c'est l'entretien d'un professeur d'université spécialisé sur Sparte par Gillen himself. Cela donne envie d'en savoir plus.....mais pas forcément en lisant un comics comme Three.
Je prendrais surement la suite en TPB.
C'est drôle que tu en parles car j'y ai pensé en lisant ta chronique sur Age Of Bronze.

Je crois que Al a également moyennement apprécié (Al si tu es par là) EDIT Al a été plus rapide.
