We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 31%, with a high sale of $25 for an NM+ raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $17. #9: AVENGERS ANNUAL #10 \| MARVEL \| 1981 What a book to see hit the top ten! It has been some time since we saw Rogue on our top ten lists, but she's back thanks to X-Men '97. The show has seen a successful launch, and the series has chosen to focus on key members of the team. Rogue, whose first appearance is in this issue, has taken the spotlight as the show explores her relationship with Magneto. The tension is very well-done, and the fans applaud the showrunners for exploring not only the X-Men but the stories behind the "super" that showcase their humanity. The show has done an excellent job of bringing back the X-Men, and fans agree! We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 34%, with a high sale of $129 for a CGC 8.5 and a current raw NM FMV of $109. #8: SUPER-VILLAIN TEAM-UP #5 \| MARVEL \| 1976 There are a few instances where a key book hits our top lists with no prior rumors or information on the character. Despite not knowing why, the first appearance of The Shroud is making waves in the aftermarket. The Shroud is often referenced as Marvel's "Batman". The Shroud's creator, Steve Englehart, even stated that Batman was the primary influence behind the creation of The Shroud. The Shroud has crossed paths with many Marvel heroes, like the Fantastic Four, Captain America, Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman. We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 79%, with a high sale of $18 for a fine raw copy and a current raw VF FMV of $22. #7: X-MEN #200 – DIRECT \| MARVEL \| 1985 As fans continue to enjoy the next episode of the highly-rated X-Men '97, the X-Men books are flying off the shelves! This issue features Magneto in his new costume, with the distinct purple color and the large "M" across his chest. Without spoiling more than the trailers, Marvel revealed that Magneto would return to the X-Men series in a new capacity. He is the new headmaster and was also introduced with the same costume featured on this issue's cover. We tracked 54 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 43%, with a high sale of $21 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $14. #6: GALACTA: DAUGHTER OF GALACTUS #1 \| MARVEL \| 2010 Last week, in partnership with NetEase Games, Marvel Entertainment released the trailer for their new team-based superhero PVP shooter. The trailer was a massive hit for gamers and fans of Marvel alike. The trailer showcased many playable characters along with gameplay. It also showcased a tease at the big bad of the game, in the form of Galacta. Many did not know who this was, and this book started moving at breakneck speeds for those that did. Galacta is the daughter of Galactus and made her first appearance in MARVEL ASSISTANT-SIZED SPECTACULAR #2. Interestingly, this book sells at a higher FMV than her first appearance. It may just be a case of misinformation to non-collectors. We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 79%, with a high sale of $60 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $59. #5: SPAWN #1 – TODD MCFARLANE – REGULAR \| IMAGE \| 1992 This comic book ranks among the top sellers of all time, consistently claiming a top spot even when no new news has been released. It is one of the most coveted first appearances and remains affordable. This combo keeps it moving in the aftermarket, emerging with huge sales every few weeks. We tracked 41 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 28%, with a high sale of $103 for a CGC 9.6 and a current raw NM FMV of $22. #4: X-MEN #239 – DIRECT \| MARVEL \| 1988 Hopefully, you've been able to keep up with X-Men '97! The next top entries all relate to the series, and this one contains spoilers! Since the announcement of the series, Mr. Sinister has been a rumored villain. However, little did we know that his reintroduction into the series would also see the introduction of the Goblin Queen! These villains made a huge entrance in the series' latest episode, which also introduced Cyclops and Jean's baby, Nathan (AKA Cable). This book is a double key, with the first cover appearance of Mr. Sinister and Madelyne Pryor as the Goblin Queen. We tracked 58 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 15%, with a high sale of $205 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $25. #3: X-MEN #4 \| MARVEL \| 1992 Here we go again. Omega Red has been a fan-favorite X-Men villain since his introduction. Fans have been collecting his first appearance since before the debut of X-Men '97. However, since the show debuted, all X-Men books have spiked in value and interest. In addition to the show, the highly anticipated Wolverine video game was data-mined last month. In the leak, the hackers revealed the list of villains, and the notorious Omega Red was included as one of the featured villains. We tracked 38 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 54%, with a high sale of $367 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $20. #2: X-MEN #221 – DIRECT \| MARVEL \| 1987 Like the #4 spot, Mr. Sinister is a top mover this week. He made his comeback in the X-Men '97 series, which was epic! It was, in part, the origin story of Nathan Summers (Cable). Mr. Sinister played a prominent role in the entire episode, and fans couldn't get enough. They quickly turned to the aftermarket to pick up significant issues of the evil scientist. We tracked 45 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 44%, with a high sale of $83 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $84. #1: X-MEN #168 \| MARVEL \| 1983 Nearly all the top four spots relate to the latest episode of the X-Men '97 series. Sorry for all the spoilers! By now, you know that the two villains to appear in the recent episode were Mr. Sinister and the Goblin Queen. Madalyn Pryor makes her first appearance in this issue, and they are moving fast on the aftermarket! Time passed, and it faded into the background. That is, until now, with the release of three new titles from Ghost Machine, including Rook, Geiger, and Red Coat. This book is trending thanks to Ole' Red, who debuted in this book, appeared on the cover, and now has his own series! We tracked it at a high sale of $45 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $42. #9: ULTIMATE BLACK PANTHER #1 – STEFANO CASELLI – REGULAR \| MARVEL \| 2024: While this book calmed down for a period, it's right back into our Top Ten. It's the only Ultimate title to remain on our list, with the fandom eagerly searching for copies as they await issue three. Issue three will see the debut of Ultimate Killmonger and Ultimate Storm, two massive characters within the Black Panther mythos. With those two drawn into the fold, the storytelling that could come about is unparalleled. It remains to be seen if Marvel will capitalize, but they've done well with the Ultimate series thus far! We tracked it at a high sale of $87 for CGC 9.8 and a current NM FMV of $37. #8: SUPER-VILLAIN TEAM-UP #5 \| MARVEL \| 1976: This book was trending for no discernable reason. Now, light has been shed, and the why has been revealed. Marvel has been teasing the new Moon Knight's identity after Marc Specter's death, and we finally know who that is. That's right, it's the Shroud, the community-proclaimed rip-off of Batman. There were quiet rumors that the Shroud would take on the mantle, with numerous collectors scouring the aftermarket for this book and his first appearance. Now that it's been confirmed, more may seek to acquire a copy. We tracked it at a high sale of $34 for a VF raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $92. #7: GEIGER 80 PAGE GIANT #1 – GARY FRANK – REGULAR \| IMAGE \| 2022: So far, the three new characters introduced in Ghost Machine #1 have been seeing some aftermarket love. Specifically, Red Coat, who first appeared in this book. He's a quirky immortal and appeals to a broad collector base. That's caused collectors to seek out his first appearance in this title now that he has his series, and Cover A is currently the cheaper option to acquire. We tracked it at a high sale of $40 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $32. #6: THE SILVER SURFER #1 \| MARVEL \| 1968: We got some casting news for the upcoming Fantastic Four, specifically, the Silver Surfer. That's caused prevalent Silver Surfer keys to surge, including this title featuring his origin and first ongoing series. It also features the now coveted first appearance of Shalla-Bal, who was recently cast as the Silver Surfer in the MCU. We tracked it at a high sale of $505 for a CGC 4.5 and a current raw VF FMV of $612. #5: WHAT IF? #37 – DIRECT \| MARVEL \| 1983: Shalla-Bal is causing a stir in the community. She bears the distinction of being the Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fantastic Four. Silver Surfer is a herald of Galactus, a universal threat for which fans have been dying for. Her key titles are flying off the digital shelf, including this book, where Shalla-Bal is introduced as Starglow, a herald of Galactus. We tracked it at a high sale of $35 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $19. #4: X-MEN #24 – DIRECT EDITION \| MARVEL \| 1993: Andy Kubert hit fans in the feels when creating this cover, playing on the fanbase's emotions. Since the 90's Rogue and Gambit have been two peas in a pod, the yellow to the mellow, etc, etc. The point is people love seeing the characters together. Of course, Magneto is currently messing that up in X-Men 97,' and some fans are peeved. They are making a stand and buying up copies of this iconic cover across the aftermarket. We tracked it at a high sale of $20 for a VF raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $16. #3: X-MEN #239 – DIRECT \| MARVEL \| 1988: For those unable to acquire the first appearance of Mr. Sinister, this is a fantastic consolation prize. Not only is it his second appearance, but his first cover appearance AND first cover and mention of Madelyne Pryor as the Goblin Queen. We won't spoil it here for those who aren't currently caught up with X-Men 97,' but we will say she plays quite an important part. We tracked it at a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $30. #2: AVENGELYNE #1 \| MAXIMUM PRESS \| 1995: Avengelyne is a fallen angel turned badass who has recently been set to appear in a big-screen adaptation. Olivia Wilde and Margot Robbie are taking on the challenge of translating this under-the-radar book to screen, and it's a hefty challenge. With the deluge of movies, TV series, and more from the big two over the past decade and a half, smaller indie titles like this have fallen to the wayside. With Robbie producing and Wilde behind the camera, they aim to change that and bring a truly obscure character to the masses! We tracked it at a high sale of $29 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $24. #1: EARTH X #12 \| MARVEL \| 2000: It was just a few months ago, on our December 4th, 2023 Top 10, when HERCULES: TWILIGHT OF A GOD #1 made our list due to strong rumors of Marvel focusing on a female version of the Silver Surfer. Bad speculation sent folks to that book and issue #4, featuring a variant Hercules' daughter (Juno) taking on the moniker. The first appearance of Frankie Raye (possibly played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who was the most likely candidate at the time) and the first iteration of female Silver Surfer in NTH MAN THE ULTIMATE NINJA #11 were also hot books. However, not many expected the recent news that Julia Garner would play Shalla-Bal as the Silver Surfer in Marvel's "The Fantastic Four." The news spurred instant debate. Shalla-Bal's first appearance as the Silver Surfer is found on this cover, along with one full-page cameo, but what's her first full appearance, you ask? Well, she doesn't really have one. In EARTH X #13 (aka EARTH X #X), she appears again in a cameo through four small panels, with dialogue, and is killed in one of them. The appearance in issue #12 is much more substantial (mostly thanks to the cover) and, therefore, has captured the market interest. See the comparison below this list. What do you think? Ca matin en scrollant sur FB, je découvre l'existence d'éditions variantes que ne je connaissais pas: les Mark Jewelers Insert Comics.

Ce sont des versions newstand avec une publicité pour des bijoux à l'intérieurs, avec des tirages plus faibles. Les autres newstand et direct market n'ont pas cette pub, car ils étaient destinés à un public ciblé: les bases américaines et leurs soldats. Ces derniers étaient des consommateurs de floppies, et étant éloignés de leur femme, on les ciblait avec ces pubs pour acheter un cadeau à leur moitié, et ainsi prouver qu'ils pensaient à elles.

This past week didn't see any additional rumors for Swift. However, just this past Monday, Director Shawn Levy had an interview and was asked about Swift's appearance in the film. Of course, the answer was ambiguous as they came. The director replied with, "...the proliferation of rumors about who is and isn't in this movie is fabulous. Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26th." Take that as you will, but this vague reply will likely spark another fire under the rumor, sending this book soaring in popularity again. We tracked it at a high sale of $28 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of 14. #8: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #1 – MARCO CHECCHETTO – REGULAR \| MARVEL \| 2024: Last week, this book fell off the top ten list after being a long-reigning member of the hot sellers. This week, the book returns and overtakes ULTIMATE BLACK PANTHER #1. Spider-Man is Marvel's most popular hero, and it makes sense that his new Ultimate debut would hit high numbers consistently. We tracked it at a high sale of $90 for a raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $79. #7: THE SILVER SURFER #1 \| MARVEL \| 1968: The announcement of Silver Surfer's casting has cast a strong divide among the fandom. Marvel cast Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal, and it was not the Silver Surfer that fans were expecting. Still, fans took to the aftermarket for Silver Surfer comics, stocking up on Norrin Radd's key books. This details the origin of the Silver Surfer and is also one of the most iconic covers of the character. The book doesn't offer a high-value entry point, with most books being found in the $30 range. It is still too early to tell if Shalla-Bal will have staying power, but some fans are already banking on her MCU appearance. However, due to disappointing box office returns, many fans thought the future plans for the universe were scrapped. Last week, at CinemaCon 2024, Paramount announced that they will move forward with the Transformers/ GI Joe crossover movie. This is a huge announcement after hitting radio silence for the past year and also brings newfound attention to the book that takes place in this shared universe known as Energon. We tracked it at a high sale of $22 for an NM raw copy, a current raw NM FMV of $16, and a CGC 9.8 FMV of $72. #1: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE LAST RONIN #1 \| IDW \| 2020: Paramount came in hot with announcing two huge movie properties at CinemaCon 2024. The first was Transformers/GI Joe, which was already a surprise enough. The next announcement blew away the fandom: a live adaptation of The Last Ronin! Not only that but the film will be rated R and will reportedly be bloody. For those that don't know, The Last Ronin is a dark, dystopian future of the TMNT series, where only one of the turtles has survived. The book is tragic and full of wrath. The series ends on a hopeful note, but it is too early to tell whether the movie will end with that same cliffhanger.We tracked it at a high sale of $158 for an NM+ raw copy with a current raw NM FMV of $124 and a CGC 9.8 FMV of $264.
