<p>Welcome to a new analysis of the Marvel sales. Reminder: I'm french, that's why I'm talking funny. Please adress your complaints to my “I wouldn’t recommend you to book a train or flight in the next 3 months” country. For any information about the french magazine on US comics I'm editing –we are preparing an issue focusing on Indy 80’s super-heroes-, please send me a message using my e-mail adress from any of my own commentaries. You’ll notice that the Marvel books are ranked with their rank and evolution among the Marvel catalog.<br>
<br>Well, the Legacy fog is disspating very quickly, in light of the new announcements by Marvel: every title is scheduled to be renumbered/relaunched with a new creative team. Dan Slott is gaining Fantastic Four and Iron Man. This will be a good test to see if he will be able to lure some of his many Spider-Man followers –the best selling Marvel title for years- to those two titles. Chip Zdarsky, despite the disappointing sales level of his Spectacular Spider-Man has been signed exclusive at Marvel. So that means he will have many other opportunities to shine there so that, once his Marvel contract is done, he will be able to sell creator owned stuff at higher levels than before. Too bad we won't be able to see his stuff anywhere else meanwhile, but that's the usual pattern.<br>
<br>Those new first issues will be expensive and with tons and tons of variant covers. So far, nothing new under the sun. Will people have the opportunity to try out those new volumes or will Marvel, greedy as always, charge too much, double ship titles and release Annuals and tie-in thingies, so that almost nobody except the already Marvel die-hard fan will be able to follow the adventure of any of the core characters of the Marvel Universe? When you see the amount of mini-series and specials released around Wolverine and Infinity Schmuck, you have to wonder if the “new” Marvel will not , in fact, look more and more like its crossover-crazy 90’s counterpart. Starting this month, I will go farther than the top 300 concerning Marvel. I will also include reorders of titles already appearing in the top 300, as long as they are significant. I decide to add anything which would have reorder above 2K, which is a lot when your average title is selling less than 30 000. Thanks to that, we can see that Thanos and Avengers (as well as the Venom Inc crossover) are the title retailers are betting on or asked about by customers. <br>
<br>Reminder: those sales are estimates, sales to comics shops situed in North America. American comics do get sold somewhere else in their original floppy edition. Keep also in mind that it's not because a copy is sold to a shop that it's sold to a customer. This would be way too easy. Digital sales are not taken into account.<br>

<p>Issue #11 had a Galactic Icon variant. TPB vol. 1 of the relaunch is having very nice reorders, along the first two volumes of the first serie. It could be that Marvel made the right move after all concerning Darth Vader TPB sales by relaunching and proposing a new Vol.1 TPB. Only time will tell.</p>
