SUPERMAN (J CASEY/J KELLY/J LOEB/M SCHULTZ/S SEAGLE) (1999-2006) SUPERMAN : PAST TENSE
SUPERMAN : METROPOLIS
SUPERMAN : WORLD'S FINEST
LE SAVIEZ VOUS ? A en croire Joe Kelly, les origines de Zod ont évoluées au cours de son run : "Zod was a while back, so forgive me if I don’t remember the whole thing. Ignition was definitely Zod’s boy from the beginning, and the gag there was that (as a young man) Zod had found him and rescued him, so despite the fact that he was infinitely more powerful than Zod, Ignition was loyal to him. Eventually, the loyalty would have been eroded, of course! But my original take for Zod was not the cosmonaut’s son business. (Even though I do like the symmetry of it) He was going to be Kal-El from the Silver Age Krypton (which we had always intended to be real) [Ed Note: Another crossover during Kelly’s run on the title involved a visit by Clark and Lois to Silver Age Krypton] corrupted by the Zod whom Superman “executed.” I wanted Superman to suffer for that violation of his own principles, and giving him an “evil twin” who had been tainted because of Superman’s fall from grace seemed like a cool way to do it." Back in 2001, we'd actually come up with a huge story where Superman's secret i.d. is exposed, Lois is killed and Superman travels to the 5th dimension where he makes a deal with Mr. Mxyzptlk to use his powers to "fix things." So Mxy plays a trick on him. He sends Superman back, and everyone had forgotten his secret i.d.... including Lois. The twist was, Superman remembered everything, so the burden of his life was restored... could he now stand to protect Lois by not marrying her? He became, in a weird sense, the Wandering Jew, which to me brought him right back to the kind of superhero Seigel and Shuster created in 1936. Denying that kind of intimate, lifelong relationship... it was the ultimate sacrifice. It was celibacy, basically." (in case you're wondering... there was one thing Superman didn't remember: Mxy himself. It was Mxy's plan all along when he made the deal with Supes in the first place, that he'd finally be rid of his Achilles heel… the whole "saying his name backwards sends him back to the 5th dimension"-gag. Now, Mxy could show up on Earth, raise hell and their "game" could begin anew, their relationship starting from Square One) So, we'd found a new paradigm that was in the greatest traditions of the character... and the suits shut us down. Perfectly within their rights, but I don't think any of us -- not me, Loeb, Joe Kelly or Mark Schultz -- ever recovered from that kick-back. That was the beginning of the end. First Loeb took off, then Schultz, then Kelly and I. Maybe you're right. Maybe they were shying away from any religious overtones." Dernière modification par mrcitrouille ; 18/02/2016 à 22h24. |

AVENGERS (ROGER STERN) (1979-1989)
Il a tenu les propos suivants en 2010 " I was fired from the Avengers, and with the exception of Jim Salicrup, no Marvel editor would return my calls. Jim very kindly offered me a Spider-Man assignment, but Peter Parker had just gotten married to Mary Jane Watson, which was -- I thought then, and still do - just a terrible move that ignored every good thing that had been developed for both characters. And since Marvel wasn't about to let me write a story where they both woke up and discovered that it was all a bad dream, I accepted an offer of work from DC" POUR PLUS D'INFORMATIONS : http://www.marvelmasterworks.com/features/int_stern_1006_1.html Dernière modification par mrcitrouille ; 09/02/2016 à 16h30. |
