BOOM! STUDIOS NEW LAUNCHING SINGLES AND ONE-SHOTS

WELCOME BACK #1 (of 4)

Retail Price: $3.99
Author: Christopher Sebela
Artist: Jonathan Brandon Sawyer
Cover Artists:
Main Cover: Jonathan Brandon Sawyer
Jackpot Variant: James Harvey
BOOM! 10 Years Incentive Cover: Rob Guillory
Incentive Cover: Elsa Charretier
What’s to Love: We believe Christopher Sebela is one of the most exciting new comic writers and his idea of reincarnated assassins who are forever fighting, killing, and loving each other throughout endless lives is another reason why. Plus, Jonathan Brandon Sawyer’s (Critical Hit) expressive art style reminds us of Becky Cloonan and Sean Gordon Murphy, and it’s just perfect for Welcome Back.
What It Is: Mali and Tessa have lived hundreds of different lives throughout time, caught up in an eternal cycle as they take part in a war so old that neither side remembers what they’re fighting for anymore. As Mali wakes up in her newest life, she suddenly becomes self-aware and starts to question everything, especially why she continues to fight. But elsewhere, Tessa is already on the hunt...

JOHN FLOOD #1 (of 6)

Retail Price: $3.99
Author: Justin Jordan
Artist: Jorge Coelho
Cover Artists:
Main Cover: Jorge Coelho
BOOM! 10 Years Incentive Cover: Rob Guillory
Incentive Cover: Nick Pitarra
What’s to Love: Justin Jordan exploded onto the comics scene just four short years ago with The Strange Talent of Luther Strode and caught everyone by surprise. Now he brings us John Flood, a series that combines the metaphysical with the procedural in a way we think is really fresh. Joining him is Jorge Coelho, whose fantastic work on Polarity and Sleepy Hollow made him a BOOM! favorite. Perfect for fans of Desolation Jones and Sherlock Holmes.
What It Is: As the result of a government experiment, John Flood no longer needs to sleep, but now he’s in a constant dream state and sometimes can’t tell what’s real and what isn’t. But a side effect is that he sees patterns and makes connections no one else can, which serve him well in his new “career” as a make-shift PI. Together with a burly ex-cop, Flood begins to investigate when he “sees” one man responsible for thousands of unsolved murders, but now he himself has caught the killer’s attention...

SLEEPY HOLLOW: PROVIDENCE #1 (of 4)

Retail Price: $3.99
Author: Eric Carrasco
Artist: Victor Santos
Cover Artists:
Main Cover: Joe Quinones
BOOM! 10 Years Incentive Cover: Rob Guillory
Incentive Cover: Faith Erin Hicks
What’s to Love: As fans anxiously await the start of the third season of Fox’s Sleepy Hollow TV show, we’ve got something to tide them over: a new, original story featuring their favorite characters, with Sleepy Hollow team member Eric Carrasco writing.
What It Is: Jenny returns to Sleepy Hollow with an ancient artifact she’s discovered: a mysterious shard of metal with untold power. But as Ichabod and Abbie investigate, the artifact attracts a demonic biker gang called The Wild Hunt, ready to cut down anyone who stands in their way.

KABOOM! NEW LAUNCHING SINGLES AND ONE-SHOTS

OVER THE GARDEN WALL #1 (of 4)

Retail Price: $3.99
Author: Pat McHale
Artist: Jim Campbell
Cover Artists:
Main Cover: Jim Campbell
Subscription Cover: Steve Wolfhard
BOOM! 10 Years Variant Cover: Jeffrey Brown
Incentive Cover: Pat McHale
What’s to Love: Airing last November, Pat McHale’s Over the Garden Wall was Cartoon Network’s first-ever original animated miniseries. We loved the eerily sweet story of two half-brothers trying to find their way home so much we published a companion one-shot that was quickly snapped up by folks who just wanted more of this world to experience. Now, we’re expanding the world of Over the Garden Wall with McHale and returning artist Jim Campbell with a full-length story.
What It Is: A new Over the Garden Wall story set between episodes 3 and 4 of the animated series! Wirt and Greg are trying to hitch a ride out of schooltown but end up having to walk. Soon, they come upon two girls playing, and wind up having to keep them entertained so that they don’t wake their giant father!

ARCHAIA NEW LAUNCHING SINGLES AND ONE-SHOTS

AMERICATOWN #1 (of 8)

Retail Price: $3.99
Authors: Bradford Winters & Larry Cohen
Artist: Daniel Irizarri
Cover Artists:
Main Cover: Mike Choi
BOOM! 10 Years Incentive Cover: Sonny Liew
Incentive Cover: Daniel Irizarri
What’s to Love: Part social commentary, part family drama, Americatown asks: What if the American Dream gave way to the American Nightmare? In their inaugural comic series, screenwriters Bradford Winters (Oz, Boss, The Americans) and Larry Cohen (Netflix’s Borgia), give us a story great for fans of Transmetropolitan, Children of Men, and the TV show Black Mirror.
What It Is: After an economic collapse and other disasters in the near future, Americans are now the legal and illegal immigrants living abroad. They find work in cities like Buenos Aires, where their very own enclave known as “Americatown” has taken root. Owen, a recent arrival, begins a journey to support and save his splintered family divided between the enclave and home back in the U.S. His struggle is just a small part of the hardships and conflicting agendas in an immigrant community trying to build itself in the shadow of a once great nation.

BUTTERFLY HC

Retail Price: $24.99
Authors: Arash Amel & Marguerite Bennett
Artists: Antonio Fuso and Stefano Simeone
Cover Design: Scott Newman
What’s to Love: We’ve all spent hours glued to episodes of shows like True Detective and House of Cards that explore deeply flawed and morally complex characters. In Butterfly, screenwriter Arash Amel (Grace of Monaco, Erased) brings that aesthetic to comics. Written by Amel and Marguerite Bennett (A-Force, Sleepy Hollow) and illustrated by Antonio Fuso (The Girl Who Played with Fire) and Stefano Simeone, Butterfly is a dark thriller that explores the nature of family in the uncompromising world of global espionage.
What It Is: Butterfly is one of Project Delta's deep cover agents, no birth certificate, no social security number, a complete ghost. When her cover is blown and she’s set up for a murder she didn’t commit, she is unknowingly led to her father’s doorstep, a man she thought died 20 years ago. Trained to trust nothing and no one, Butterfly must decide whether to seek answers with the Project, or believe the man who betrayed her years ago.
