En parlant de covers , celle du dernier numéro d' Y the Last man ( ne pleure pas ,Ivan )
Y: The Last Man that is. One of comics’ most critically-acclaimed and best-selling series of collections of the last five years, Brian K. Vaughan’s Vertigo series publishes its final issue this January. DC has provided Newsarama a first look at the last Y cover by artist Massimo Carnevale (click on the image to open a larger version). Series editor Will Dennis also took a moment to comment on the occasion and the cover image… “Well, this is it -- the final cover to Y: The Last Man. “Trying to create a final single image that will be relevant to the contents of the issue but also have something larger to say about the entire series was really difficult. This one went through a lot of permutations but I hope you agree with myself and Brian K Vaughan that cover artist Massimo Carnevale totally nailed it. It’s mysterious, touching, dark yet still has a bit of humor -- a perfect description of the series itself. “On a technical level, it’s beautifully painted and the composition is flawless. Massimo has quietly put together a run of nearly 40 amazing covers month in and month out — which can get to be a grind for any artist — but he still managed to raise his game for the last hurrah. “I’m not ashamed to say I felt kinda choked up on first seeing this cover... it’s strange for all of us who work on the book to finally see it end. But I couldn’t be more proud of the entire creative team or of this cover. I hope you like it too!” Y: THE LAST MAN #60 Written by Brian K. Vaughan Art by Pia Guerra & José Marzan Jr. Cover by Massimo Carnevale It’s the dramatic conclusion you’ve been waiting for as Yorick and company reach the end of their journey in this very special 48-page issue. On sale January 2 • 56 pg, FC, $4.99 US • MATURE READERS

BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS #1 Standard Edition (AUG070205) is available for advance reorder; as a reminder, retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition (AUG070206) for every 10 copies of the Standard Edition ordered. This issue is on Final Order Cutoff on October 25 and is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 14.
