Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with leading games, IP and toy company Hasbro, revealed a first look at interior pages and variant covers for G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #316, the next issue of the smash hit series. In this issue, guest artist Paul Pelletier (Aquaman) rejoins the creative team alongside legendary series writer Larry Hama (Marvel’s Wolverine), artist Tony Kordos (Batman & Robin Eternal) and colorist Francesco Segala (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).

Featuring covers by the incomparable Andy Kubert (Marvel’s X-Men), a new chapter of the iconic series arrives in comic book shops on May 7, 2025.

Cobra…defectors? When members of Cobra’s elite Crimson Guard turn to the Joes for sanctuary, it’s an opportunity for Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and their ninja team to eliminate the threat of Springfield once and for all.

In addition to the main cover by Kubert and colorist Laura Martin, issue #316 will also feature an open-to-order variant cover with a black and white version of Kubert’s main cover, and the continuation of the “Camouflage Variant” 1:10 incentive cover series by Francis Portela (Black Panther), with this cover featuring Dawn Moreno.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero is a cornerstone of the historic collaboration between Skybound and Hasbro, alongside the shared Energon Universe that features ongoing series Void Rivals by Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and artist Lorenzo De Felici (Oblivion Song), TRANSFORMERS by writer Daniel Warren Johnson and artist Jorge Corona (Middlewest), and G.I. JOE by writer Joshua Williamson (Superman, Dark Ride) and artist Tom Reilly (The Thing).
