"Tim uses models and photo reference for most all of the characters that he draws. He creates a photo collage in Photoshop of the cover he is illustrating. He prints this out and then uses it as a base to draw from. Tim draws the image onto a piece of vellum in pencil. He then dry transfers the pencils onto a comic art board, and then inks over the pencils to create the pen & ink original. Tim then makes a high quality print onto a watercolor art board and uses it as a base to paint over. Tim collaborates with Grant Goleash, and they work together to complete the watercolor painting that becomes the finished published cover.
