Well, in February, to celebrate 25 years of Image Comics, Skybound will be publishing The Walking Dead #163 by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard, Imvincible #133 by Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley and Nathan Fairbairn, and Outcast #25 by Robert Kirkman, Paul Azaceta, and Elizabeth Breitwieser, will all cost 25 cents.

THE WALKING DEAD #163 begins an all-new story arc and readers are met with the aftermath of the Whisperer War.

Ryan Ottley returns as artist on INVINCIBLE #133 just as “THE END OF ALL THINGS” begins. This 12-part mega-story will touch every corner of the INVINCIBLE universe, and when it’s over… IT’S OVER. Every single story for the past 13 years has been leading up to this last finale story arc.

OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA #25 begins an all-new story arc as well and provides a major turning point in the series. New characters are introduced and big things are in store for Kyle Barnes as he’s faced with something he never could have prepared for—hope. Everything changes in this 25th issue, for $0.25, in celebration of the 25th anniversary.

A new arc of The Walking Dead, starting with a 25 cent issue? A comic that usually sells close to 100,000?

Image continues its 25th anniversary celebration with a series of 11 Women’s HIstory themed variant covers for March. And just to show they believe what they are saying, 100% of the proceeds made from these March Women’s History variant covers will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

The variants, all by women artists, celebrate the careers of women in comics, the strides made throughout comics history made by the women’s movement, as well as Image’s history

“Many of Image Comics’ staff—myself included—and an ever-growing catalog of some of the most talented writers and artists in the industry, feel strongly about supporting women’s reproductive rights,” said Corey Murphy, Director of Sales at Image Comics in a statement. “Women have come a long way in this country, and the progress that’s been made is in part due to the efforts Planned Parenthood has made in sex education and affordable, preventative healthcare. I’m extremely proud to be a part of a company that’s unafraid to take a stance in supporting a non-profit that’s recently been under fire. This month we celebrate Women’s History, the strides the women have made in the comics industry, and the difference that everyone—male and female—has made by coming together in spreading equality.”

It’s all part of a whole year of themed variants. And here’s the schedule thus far and five of the 11.

Le rapport d'Arrowsmith à la ECCC 2017 :

Citation:

source : multiversitycomics

http://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net//2...panel25ans.jpg

Image annonce 15 nouveau titres :
  • New Lieutenants of Metal – written by Joe Casey with art from Ulises Farinas
    Citation:

Described as “incomprehensible” by Casey and as being in the vein of early Image titles, this series promises not to take itself too seriously.
  • Death of Love – written by Justin Jordan, illustrated by Image newcomer Donal DeLay, colored by Felipe Sobreiro, and lettered by Rachel Deering
    Citation:

This series is a five-issue miniseries about “Nice Guy” who declares war on love, and promises cupid arrows and chainsaws. Look for it to drop in the fall.
  • The Family Trade – written by Justin Jordan, art from Image newcomer Morgan Beem
    Citation:

A new ongoing series, set in a steampunk world, about a manmade floating city and the family of assassins that runs it. “God help me for making this type of comparison, but if you like Indiana Jones, or even Pirates of the Caribbean with a lot less Johnny Depp, that’s kind of what we’re going for here,” Jordan said.
  • “B]Flavor[/B] – written by Joseph Keating with art from Wook Jin Clark
    Citation:

A new food-inspired series (much needed with the recently concluded “Chew”) about a world in which culinary arts is the main industry. Culinary scientist Ali Bouzari is consulting on the series. This ongoing begins just in time for harvest!
  • Sleepless – written by Sarah Vaughn, illustrated by Leia Del Duca and Alissa Sallah, and lettered by Deron Bennett
    Citation:

Sleepless explores a knight, protecting a princess, who doesn’t sleep and the effects that has on their life. Sallah, who is both colorist and editor, said she cried when she read the first issue.
  • Redlands – written and colored by Jordie Bellaire, illustrated by Vanesa Del Rey, and lettered by Fonografiks
    Citation:

This is Bellaire’s first high-profile writing assignment as she has colored a number of celebrated series over the last few years including “The Vision.” “Redlands” takes place in a town called Redlands with “corrupt cops that are also witches.” This series is basically about everything Bellaire is currently pissed about. “If you like sex, if you like weirdness, if you like horror, if you’re upset about the way the government and criminal justice system works, give it a shot.”
  • Shirtless Bear-Fighter! – written by former Marvel editors Jody LeHeup and Sebastian Girner, art by Neil Vendrell, colours by Mike Spicer, and letters by Dave Lanphear
    Citation:

The duo of LeHeup and Girner promised a lot of, well, shirtless bear fighting. “It’s very over the top, very bonkers, but very grounded,” LeHeup added to laughter from the crowd. Girner also explained, “There are a ton of influences — ’80s action flicks, kung-fu, Saturday morning cartoons, for sure, it’s very animated. It’s about a guy who had to deal with his past to save everybody.”
  • The Family Tree – written by Jeff Lemire with art from Phil Hester
    Citation:

Neither Lemire or Hester could make it to the panel so this was announced via a video that had some technical difficulties, but eventually was able to work. Lemire described this as a horror comic, and spiritual follow-up to his work on “Sweet Tooth” and “Animal Man,” about a family on the run across backwoods America. This series is set to launch in November.
  • The Hard Place – written by Doug Wagner with art from Nick Rummel, and edited by Kevin Gardner
    Citation:

A five-issue “gritty crime” series with all five issues already penciled and inked, about a character fresh out of jail who gets caught up in a robbery. Gardner told the crowd that Rummel is “doing some storytelling stuff I haven’t even seen people attempt.”
  • Generation Gone – written by Ales Kot with art from André Lima Araújo, colored by Chris O’Halloran, and letter by Clayton Cowles with Tom Muller on design.
    Citation:

Out in July, this story centers on a couple in a toxic and harmful relationship who decide to rob a bank and then receive superpowers somehow very quickly following.
  • The New World – written by Ales Kot with art from Tradd Moore, colored by Jordie Bellaire and lettered by Clayton Cowles with Tom Muller designs
    Citation:

Set in “New California” following a second Civil War, this story sees the wall having been erected between California and Mexico, and a post-big earthquake LA also dubbed “New Los Angeles.” Not described the story as a Romeo/Juliet type love story. Kot said both his new series are two sides of the same coin, all about “love, fate and action.”
  • Mage: The Hero Denied – written and illustrated by Matt Wagner
    http://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net//2...02017/Mage.jpg
    Citation:

This is the third part of Wagner’s Mage trilogy which he began “before most of the people who preceded me on this stage [were] born.” The 15-issue series, with a #0 issue out at SDCC and a double-sized finale, will be colored by Wagner’s son. The trilogy is a retelling of the Arthurian legend and also metaphorical of Wagner’s life. “You always hear every story’s already been told,” Wagner said. “That’s maybe true. But it hasn’t been told by you.” You can read an interview with Wagner at ECCC here.
  • Savage Town – co-written by Declan Shalvey and Phillip Barrett, art by Declan Shalvey, colors by Jordie Belliare and letters from Clayton Cowles.
    Citation:

A graphic novel set in the Irish town of Limerick about an Irish gangster named Jimmy Savage. Shalvey, and Irish creator himself, said the experience of writing this was “liberating.” “You can do whatever the fuck you want. Especially this, because I don’t know if anybody will be able to read this, because it’s all in Irish slang.” Look for this to drop in the fall and check out an interview about this new graphic novel.
  • Sacred Creatures – co-created by Pablo Raimondi and Klaus Janson
    http://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net//2...dcreatures.png
    Citation:

A six-issue series beginning this summer with a 66 page first issue and subsequent 35 page installments, Janson said “We held absolutely nothing back.” “Sacred Creatures” takes place in a world where supernatural beings have inserted themselves into society and are now ready to take control. Janson and Raimondi are sharing writing and art duties with Raimondi illustrating the present day story and Janson showcasing the history of the world. This is Janson’s first creator-owned series. All issues will have three covers, one from Raimondi, one from Janson, and a third from contributors including Frank Miller, Sean Gordon Murphy and Bill Sienkiewicz. More info here.
  • Moonstruck– written by “Lumberjanes” co-creator Grace Ellis with art from Shae Beagle
    Citation:

A five-issue series beginning in July, “Moonstruck” is a romance story with werewolves. In comparison to “Lumberjanes” Ellis stated, “‘Lumberjanes’ energy is very bright, it’s like a 10,” Ellis said. “This is a little bit different. It’s like a 9.75. It’s very cute, it’s very gay.”

A l'instar de Love Is Love, recueil publié par IDW suite à la tragédie d'Orlando, Image Comics va publier une anthologie intitulée Where We Live dont les bénéfices seront reversés aux victimes de Las Vegas.

https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2...ComicsLogo.jpg

Le projet est confié à J.H Williams III, Wendy Wright-Williams, Scott Allie, Dave Stewart et Eric Stephenson qui vont faire appel aux auteurs.

Citation:

On October 1, 2017, Las Vegas, Nevada suffered the worst mass shooting in modern American history, resulting in 58 deaths and over 500 injured. It broke my heart. Las Vegas is my home. I felt like something needed to be done to help in a unique way. A week passed before the shock cleared enough to decide I wanted to help create a benefit book project for the survivors, along with oversight from Eric Stephenson, Scott Allie, Dave Stewart, and Wendy Wright-Williams. I’m thankful for them and Image Comics offering so quickly to do this. With this book, titled Where We Live, our hope is to not only help those in need after this tragic event, but to also somehow start a real conversation on avenues for preventing this sort of violence from happening again in the future. We ask that you join us in this effort. More details will be forthcoming soon.
Citation:

[The book will] include a variety of perspectives with key themes exploring the: value of a compassionate society, the need for communication/conversations, mental health stigmatization, access to healthcare, gun violence, common sense gun control, history of the 2nd Amendment, why the 2nd Amendment is important to gun owners, role of the NRA in national & local politics, balance of safety & privacy/freedoms, aftermath of tragedy and how individuals & communities persevere, role of the media in tragedies, ongoing need for survivor support, and appreciation of Las Vegas as a community.

Le prochain Millarworld de Mark Millar se nomme The Magic Order et est dessiné par Olivier Coipel :

https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2...EwMDY5NTU4.jpg

C'est prévu en 6 numéros et débutera au printemps 2018.

Citation:

"So my idea with The Magic Order was to take something that’s essentially about a secret order of good wizards who got rid of all the bad things hundreds of years ago, but live quietly among us now with blue-collar jobs and ordinary domestic lives," Millar told Entertainment Weekly. "They have this secret life, but to the outside world it’s all very normal and it makes the idea look more like The Sopranos than Lord of the Rings."

"It’s all about accessibility, and the big idea here is that these are the guys who keep the world as rational and normal as it feels to us now," Millar continued. "These guys are out there cracking heads in the shadows so we can all sleep safely in our beds at night. That’s the deal and the ancient promise they made to mankind: five families across the world who take care of things whenever they’re needed. It’s R-rated adult fantasy. Something for the kids who grew up 10 or 20 years ago loving all-ages fantasy in cinema, but now wanting something a little tastier."

Image Comics is pleased to reveal the cover artwork for the WHERE WE LIVE anthology and welcome editor Will Dennis on board to volunteer his time curating and coordinating the project. WHERE WE LIVE will feature work from a wide range of comic creators—including Neil Gaiman, Mike Mignola, and the previously announced Kurt Busiek and James Robinson—along with many more soon to be announced. Survivors of the attack will also contribute to the WHERE WE LIVE anthology.

“When Eric asked me to join the team, I was really overcome with emotion,” said Dennis. “The magnitude of this tragedy is incomprehensible and if i can help in any way to bring some small measure of relief to the survivors, I’m there without hesitation. There’s already been an amazing outpouring from creators and I’m certain the end result will be extremely powerful.”

“I couldn’t be happier to have Will Dennis volunteering to take over this project with us,” said Williams. “This is such an important cause, and we are working hard to handle this subject in a powerfully meaningful way. One we hope that not only helps the Las Vegas shooting victims, but also helps push the conversation of the problems we face into a positive momentum.”

Stephenson added: “Gun violence should be abhorrent to all, so it was without hesitation that we agreed to publish this when Jim and Wendy Williams first approached Image about partnering on this project. Any shooting, regardless of the assailant or the number of victims, is a tragedy, and the fact that these incidents are happening with increasing frequency underscores the urgent need for everyone to be more fully aware of just what is at stake if some form of action isn’t taken.”

Dennis joins previously announced curators JH Williams III, Wendy Wright-Williams, Dave Stewart, and Image Comics’ Publisher, Eric Stephenson.

100% of the proceeds for the WHERE WE LIVE anthology will be donated to an existing GoFundMe for the survivors in Vegas, to be announced.
