https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2...04x6%20SOL.png

Citation:

A Study in Emerald features a brilliant (unnamed) detective and his faithful partner as they attempt to solve a horrific murder of cosmic proportions. The complex investigation takes the Baker Street investigators from the murderous slums of Whitechapel all the way to the Queen’s Palace as Gaiman weaves together distinctly British intrigue with trademark Lovecraftian flourishes.

This gorgeous new hardcover adaptation joins How to Talk to Girls at Parties by Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon, Troll Bridge by Colleen Doran and Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves in the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire by Shane Oakley in Dark Horse’s modern Neil Gaiman Library, alongside new editions of Only the End of the World Again from P. Craig Russell and Troy Nixey and the just-announced Harlequin Valentine with John Bolton. Dark Horse also recently announced the second series in its ongoing adaptation of Gaiman’s American Gods, subtitled My Ainsel, from longtime Gaiman collaborator Russell and artist Scott Hampton. A Study in Emerald will hit shelves June 20, 2018, for $17.99, and we’ve got an exclusive first look at Albuquerque’s evocative cover below.

:woot:

Picking up after the world-altering finale from Buffy Season 11, the series’ synopsis indicates that the Scooby Gang have had an uncharacteristically laid back year away from fighting the forces of evil. However, when Xander and Dawn’s housewarming is gatecrashed by some familiar faces, Buffy and her crew will reach for their stakes once again. Forced to battle with a legion of demons, Wolfram Hart and a vampire from the future called Harth, Buffy will apparently find herself trapped in a time warp that could end the Slayers forever.

With alternate futures clearly playing a big part, The Reckoning will once again bring back future Slayer Fray, who first appeared in 2001’s self-titled spin-off. The Reckoning will see the return of Faith and Angel, as well as fan-favorite Illyria, though whether they help or hinder the cause remains to be seen.

SDCC ’18: Dark Horse to Release “Invisible Kingdom” by G. WIllow Wilson and Christian Ward
http://www.multiversitycomics.com/ne...m-wilson-ward/

Citation:

Dark Horse have announced at The Hollywood Reporter that G. Willow Wilson (“Ms. Marvel”) and Christian Ward (“Black Bolt”) will launch “Invisible Kingdom” as part of its ‘Berger Books’ imprint. The comic will see Wilson write a creator-owned book for the first time since her Vertigo series “Air,” which Karen Berger edited, ended in 2010.

The book will follow two women, in a far off galaxy, one a fighter pilot and the other a religious acolyte. Together they will uncover a galactic conspiracy, connecting the galaxy’s most dominant religion and its largest corporation.

Wilson said of the project, “It’s a delight to be working with my mentor Karen Berger once again, especially on such an exciting project.” Christian Ward, a first-time collaborator with Wilson, added “I’m thrilled not only to be returning to a big creator-owned sci-fi but to be working with Karen Berger and G. Willow Wilson. Karen’s amazing career has helped to shape me as a creator, and with Willow, I don’t think there’s anyone today who writes with more warmth, humor or humanity. Nobody writes better, more relatable characters than her!” Ward continued his praise and said, “We’re already buzzing with excitement about all the weird and wonderful places that we’re taking this whole new assemble of instantly lovable characters. I hope you join us as we go somewhere amazing.”

“Invisible Kingdom” is set to launch in March 2019, and more information about the series will be revealed during the “Berger Books: The Second Wave” panel this Friday at San Diego Comic Con.

https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2...boundCover.jpg

Citation:

Prolific writer Jeff Lemire has been a fixture at Dark Horse Comics for several years now, but always under the ever-widening umbrella of his Black Hammer universe. Artist Mike Deodato Jr., on the other hand, has been a Marvel Comics stalwart for decades, producing major work for the publisher on everything from Thunderbolts and Original Sin to Infinity Wars and the upcoming Savage Avengers. Today, Paste can exclusively announce that former Thanos collaborators Deodato Jr. and Lemire will reunite this August to kick off Berserker Unbound, Lemire’s first non-Black Hammer work for Dark Horse, and Deodato’s first non-Marvel project after years as a company exclusive.

“I really wanted to draw a barbarian story and Jeff turned this dream of mine into a reality with this deeply emotional story of friendship seen through multiple dimensions,” Deodato Jr. said in a statement. “I am not exaggerating when I say this book has the most epic battles I’ve ever drawn! Berserker Unbound is a turning point in my career.”

Berserker Unbound opens as a relentless sword-swinging warrior emerges from a wormhole into a modern urban metropolis. The loincloth-clad fish-out-of-water must adapt to his surroundings while safeguarding this new world from a cruel wizard seeking to obliterate everything in his path. Along with Lemire and Deodato Jr., colorist Frank Martin and letterer Steve Wands will bring this adventure to sequential life.

“As soon as I had a chance to work with Mike Deodato on Thanos at Marvel I knew it would be the start of a beautiful partnership,” Lemire added. “We immediately started talking about the potential of teaming up for a creator-owned series. Mike is an incredible artist and, with Berserker Unbound, I tried to model a story to all of his many strengths. Berserker Unbound is many things. It has magic, action, and blood, but it also has heart. And it’s not at all what it first appears to be. We’re both very excited to be working together at Dark Horse, with Frank Martin and Steve Wands, to build the worlds of both Berserker and the world of Cobb, his unexpected companion.”

Berserker Unbound #1, the first of four issues, goes on sale August 7th, 2019, and is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. The first issue features a variant cover from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, and Paste readers can take an exclusive first look at Deodato Jr. and Martin’s main cover below.
