Citation:

• During the End of Planetary panel, John Cassaday revealed that the cover to the long-awaited issue number 27 will be a double-gatefold cover most likely featuring a who's who of Planetary characters.

• After issue 27 hits stands, the final volume of Planetary will be released in hardcover form. There will also be a second volume of Absolute Planetary.

• Christos Gage didn't give much information, but he did say to keep an eye out for issues 20 and 21 of Avengers: Initiative. They're going to be big!

• During the Writing Teenagers panel, Phil Hester discussed the upcoming Cartoon Network adaptation of his series Firebreather. He's read the first script and said it loosely adapts the first Firebreather mini.

Ah ben oui ça fait pas lourd.
Il devrait y avoir un peu plus d'animation ce samedi.

En cherchant un peu, on peut quand même trouver quelques compte-rendu de cette convention.
Notamment pour le panel DC Nation de Vendredi :

Citation:

The last panel I attended today was DC Nation. DC’s Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler led the DC panel comprised of Sales VP Bob Wayne, Editor Elisabeth Gehrlein, Sean McKeever, Ethan Van Sciver, and an extraordinarily tardy Billy Tucci. Sattler led off commenting that there was indeed very little that would be revealed on the panel. In the aftermath of the big summer cons, having told what they can then and it being too early to release the skinny on the next big thing, he stated: “These autumn shows are hard.”

That didn’t stop folks from asking.

- Satller did say that Legion of 3 Worlds is a VERY important book in the DCU for the next three years of story-telling.

- Sattler refused to entertain questions concerning Minx Comics. He could not comment on any addition Neil Gaiman commitments to Batman, but promised lots of Deathstroke and Lobo in 2009.

- Attendees all made mention of the incomprehensibility of Final Crisis. One asked, “What is Grant Morrison smoking?”
“I don’t know,” Sattler answered.

- J. Michael Straczynski will be working on Brave and the Bold, and one other yet to be named project.

- With the economic down turn, I asked, what impact does that have on your planning for 2009? After much groaning and grumping Sattler responded that “…It motivates us to turn out the best stories we possibly can.”
A bearded guy a few rows behind me asked the follow up question: “Does that mean you haven’t previously been trying?”
“Nice way to twist my words, beard-guy.” Sattler clarified, “It motivates us to try even more…”

- When he wasn’t playing with his newly acquired Batman action figure that he designed, Ethan Van Sciver mused over a considered reboot of Aquaman with Geoff Johns. Aquaman: Rebirth, anyone?

- A question was asked of Sean McKeever, “Coming from some other comic company, what’s the best thing about working for DC?”
“It’s not some other company,” He answered.

- Billy Tucci arrived in the last ten minutes of the panel. He spoke passionately about his current project, Sgt Rock: The Lost Battalion. The story is based on actual WWII events. On Sunday, one of the men who fought in the Lost Battalion will join Tucci at the con for a panel. That’s one that is sure to be interesting!

The rest of the DC Comics folks will be at the con through Saturday, but they will not be in attendance on Sunday.

Je serais pas étonné que cette convention disparaisse du calendrier (ou change de date) l'an prochain.

Quelques perles tirées du panel DCU: Crisis and Beyond

Citation:

The panel was staffed by Sattler, DC Sales VP Bob Wayne, Shane Davis, Matt Sturges, Rags Morales, Ethan Van Sciver, Billy Tucci, and Editor Elisabeth Gehrlein.

- Matt Sturges will be writing the post-Final Crisis story Run!, which will feature a pivotal super-villain character from Final Crisis as the central character. Sattler said the book will be surprising with three-water-cooler-moments in every issue.
Freddie Williams will handle the art.
“It will kick total ass,” Sattler announced.

- On the subject of Final Crisis, the conversation turned once-again to the confusing nature of the story. Since the audience at the DC Nation panel on Friday seemed to have consensus that the books are incomprehensible, I asked if there was a story bible for guys like Sturges who have to write in the Final Crisis aftermath.
Sattler assured the crowd that the writers at least understand what’s going on. That was the last question he took from me, by the way.
Someone suggested that perhaps Cliff’s Notes could be provided for all Morrison titles.
Van Sciver seemed a bit peeved at the suggestion that Final Crisis is difficult to “get” and asked: “What doesn’t make sense?”
The guy across from me answered, “I read English. I understand the words on the page. I don’t understand the way in which they are arranged. Superman Beyond was incomprehensible to me.”
“It makes sense in 3D,” Sattler assured
. He and Gehrlein both went on to say that the series is very dense, compressed. The pay off is at the end.

- Bob Wayne stated that no decision has yet been made about how to format the Final Crisis trade, whether to include Superman Beyond in the book or not.

- Lots of Black Adam in 2009 starting in January in the JSA Faces of Evil tie-in.

- Batman R.I.P. occurs perpendicular to Final Crisis.

- “Last Days of Animal Man” is coming soon.

- Sattler admitted that he did not know if Jim Shooter will stick with DC after his Legion of Super Heroes run is complete.

- Sattler pointed to Green Arrow as the most important character of 2009, while Gehrlein maintained that it would be Brainiac.

- Bob Wayne announced that our friends in Canada can expect a price-point switch next week.
En gras les trucs qui m'ont fait rire :oups:
