Tiny Onion will collaborate with a murderers' row of talent for its first 13 issues & embark on a year-long, national signing tour—dubbed Corpse Tour '25—with stops to coincide with each Exquisite Corpses issue release

PORTLAND, Ore. 02/19/2025 — Horror legends James Tynion IV (Something is Killing the Children, The Department of Truth) and Michael Walsh (The Silver Coin, Universal Monsters: Frankenstein) will lead a group of the most exciting voices in the industry in the upcoming Exquisite Corpses. Billed as "the comic event of the year" by Forbes in an exclusive scoop on the announcement yesterday, this unique new ongoing series is set to launch in May with its first, 13-issue season—with more story arcs planned for the future—from Image Comics/Tiny Onion.

Readers will experience a comics event like no other. Each issue of Exquisite Corpses will feature the top tier craft of Tynion and Walsh in collaboration—and competition—with a roster of industry-leading talent. Each issue will build upon the last in a true 'exquisite corpse'-style. In these first, 13 blood-soaked issues the creative crew will determine who wins… and who dies.

Exquisite Corpses will feature the work of comics superstars Adam Gorham (Hellhunters), Becca Carey (Absolute Wonder Woman), Che Grayson (Dark Spaces: Good Deeds), Claire Roe (Dark Spaces: The Hollywood Special), Gavin Fullerton (The Closet), Jordie Bellaire (Redlands), Marianna Ignazzi (Catwoman), Pornsak Pichetshote (The Good Asian), Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things), and Valentine De Landro (Bitch Planet).

Every five years on Halloween, the wealthiest families in America play a game. In Exquisite Corpses, 12 of the deadliest people in the world are dropped into a small town with just one goal: last killer standing wins. For the citizens of Oak Valley, Maine—this year's unlucky arena—the goal is much simpler. They must survive the night.

“Sometimes you have an idea, and you know it’s crackling with energy and potential but you have to wait for the right moment to unleash it,” said Tynion IV. “When the final pieces were falling into place for the formation of Tiny Onion, the first call I made was to pitch Michael Walsh the story of Exquisite Corpses. Later that week, Michael had sketches of the first dangerous killers, and the ideas have been flowing rapid-fire for almost a year and a half since. We’re trying to bring the kind of energy and excitement that’s usually reserved in the comics space for a superhero comic or licensed property. That’s why we’re calling this a horror comics event. We feel like this has the potential to be something really special and lasting.”

Each issue of the series will showcase variant cover artwork by some of the most lauded artists in the space—with Issue #1 featuring covers by Alex Eckman-Lawn, Jae Lee & June Chung, James Stokoe, Nimit Malavia, and more.

Walsh added: “James and I have been friends since very early in our respective careers, but we didn't collaborate until we were both firmly established and shaped by years of working in comics. Our first collaboration was on an issue of The Silver Coin—the issue was an instant critic and fan favorite, and I felt our pacing and storytelling sensibilities were entirely in line. I was already itching to work with James again, but when he approached me with the kernel of the idea that would become Exquisite Corpses, I knew it would be something special. We brought in some of the brightest voices in comics to flesh out the series, which felt thematically and conceptually perfect. From there, things just kept growing until we had a colossal horror event comic on our hands.”

Tiny Onion will also embark on a year-long, national signing tour—dubbed Corpse Tour '25—with stops to coincide with each Exquisite Corpses issue release. Each event will feature Tynion in conversation with local Exquisite Corpses creators, with a Q&A and signing to follow. Corpse Tour ‘25 will kick off with a release party in May.

“During the Exquisite Corpses writers summit in Buffalo last year, I was struck by how charming the creators were with one another, and how much knowledge they had to share,” said Jazzlyn Stone, Director of Communications for Tiny Onion. “Constructing this series has felt like a celebration at every step—we would like to invite more people to this Exquisite Party. Corpse Tour ‘25 is designed to share some of that writers room magic with the fans and retailers, to bring the party to their door.”

Exquisite Corpses #1 will be a hefty, double-length debut issue, featuring 60 pages of story content for just $4.99, and available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 14:

Cover A by Walsh & Jordie Bellaire
Cover B by James Stokoe
Cover C by Walsh (polybagged)
Cover D blank sketch cover
Cover E "stealth variant" by soon-to-be-announced artist
Cover F 1:25 copy incentive by Alex Eckman-Lawn
Cover G 1:50 copy incentive by Nimit Malavia
Cover H 1:100 copy incentive by Jae Lee & June Chung

Exquisite Corpses #1 will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

Happy Hunting!

Image/Ghost Machine sent chills through audience members at today's ComicsPro event with the announcement of a duo of new thrillers for 2025—First Ghost by New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer, Geoff Johns, and Gene Ha and Hyde Street: Sisterhood by Maytal Zchut and Leila Leiz.

Ghost Machine’s Unnamed Universe story settings span decades—from the future of Geiger, to the past of Redcoat—and now its present-day set series will begin with First Ghost. This new series launches later this year and will be co-written by Meltzer—who, after a short story in Marvel #1000, returns to comics for the first time in six years—and Johns with world-renowned artist Gene Ha (Top 10, Wonder Woman: Historia). First Ghost will follow on a newly elected United States President who moves into the White House with a young son. The two quickly discover the residence is more terrifying than cutthroat politicians and red tape.

“Geoff and I have been planning this for years,” said Melzter, whose latest work The JFK Conspiracy: The Secret Plot to Kill Kennedy is currently featured on numerous bestseller lists. "It’s a dream come true to work with friends and creative titans like Geoff and Gene. Comic books are one of my first creative loves and I’m thrilled to be part of Ghost Machine, where we can create stories that we’re all invested in.” The series will see him re-teamed with Ha who he collaborated with on the critically acclaimed issue of 2007’s Justice League of America #11.

But that's not all the excitement out of Ghost Machine—fans will also soon be introduced to a new character this April, Sister Hood, in the upcoming Hyde Street #5, before she takes up residency on Hyde Street with the creepy new release, Sisterhood: A Hyde Street Story.

The new five-issue series is set to launch this July and reunites Ghost Machine writer Maytal Zchut and artist Leila Leiz, who has signed an exclusive agreement with Ghost Machine as a full-time artist. The It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour collaborators will explore themes of extreme co-dependence and revenge in a tale revolving around two life-long friends whose relationship radically changes when one accidentally drowns during a sorority hazing incident... But on Hyde Street, death takes on a terrifying new meaning.

“When Maytal pitched me the story for Sisterhood, I immediately said yes," said Leiz. "And when Ghost Machine offered me a chance to work with them on an exclusive basis, it was another easy answer for me.”

With almost a year of sold-out, hit books under its belt including Geiger, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus, Hyde Street, It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour, The Rocketfellers, and Hornsby & Halo, the first-of-its-kind company unveiled the new titles that cut across two of its shared universes—its horror-themed universe Hyde Street and its action-adventure centric universe of alternate American history and heroes, The Unnamed.

The upcoming Redcoat #14 by Geoff Johns, Bryan Hitch, Andrew Currie, Brad Anderson, and Rob Leigh will serve as a prelude to the forthcoming First Ghost by Johns, Brad Meltzer, and Gene Ha. Set during the infamous burning of the White House, the powder keg issue will ignite the Ghost Machine fandom with excitement this August and be published by Image Comics.

In the year 1814, where Washington D.C. is under siege by the British army, and the White House is engulfed in flames, Immortal British soldier Simon Pure witnesses history burning before his eyes—and comes face to face with the man responsible for lighting the match. But when Simon is blamed for the attack, his mission takes a shocking turn…

The upcoming First Ghost series will follow a newly elected United States President who moves into the White House with a young son. The two quickly discover the residence is more terrifying than cutthroat politicians and red tape.

“One of the joys of working in the historic timeline of The Unnamed, is that stories can be told across the canvas of American History, revealing secrets, introducing characters, and unlocking the greatest mysteries of the United States and those who not only founded it, but defined it," said Johns. "In this issue, Simon Pure gets blamed for the burning of the White House in 1814… and is on a mission to prove his innocence. Or is he?”

Hitch added: "Being able to collaborate across series with creators like Gene [Ha] and Brad [Meltzer] is one of the reasons that Ghost Machine is so much fun."

DC Comics and the creators behind Ghost Machine imprint have announced a new crossover that will see the two companies trading artists for a pair of very cool variant covers. It's effectively the first crossover between the DCU and Ghost Machine's Unnamed Universe.

This arrangement will see Geiger artist Gary Frank contribute a cover to the upcoming Batman #163, the final part of the Hush 2 storyline. Meanwhile, current Batman artist (and DC Publisher, President, and Chief Creative Officer) Jim Lee will hop over to Ghost Machine to draw a cover for Geiger #19. This will mark Lee's first time drawing for an Image Comics-published book since 2011's Spawn #200.

Annonce d'un nouveau titre Giant Generator : Escape par Rick Remender et Daniel Acuna dès août.

From the creative team of New York Times bestselling author Rick Remender (Deadly Class, Uncanny X-Force) and powerhouse Daniel Acuña (Captain America, Black Panther)—the duo behind Marvel’s Uncanny Avengers—comes an all-new, wartime thriller titled, Escape. This ongoing series is set to launch in August from Image Comics.

Set in a brutal, fully painted world of anthropomorphic animals—think Inglourious Basterds meets Blacksad—Escape is a gritty, bullet-riddled journey through war’s scorched aftermath. It’s about the violence we inflict, the souls we try to save, and the courage it takes to crawl out of fire.

“Daniel and I have worked together many times, and each project sets a new high watermark in my experience making comics,” said Remender. “He’s one of the best artists working today. Getting to take our time and build this book exactly the way we want—drenched in love—has been an absolute pleasure. I’m certain readers will feel that on every page. Escape is a perfect comic book.”

Acuña added: “When Rick and I started working together years ago, we ‘connected,’ not only as artists but also on a personal level. Back then, we already decided we wanted to create something together. I honestly thought it’d never happen, but thanks to Rick’s infinite patience (and believe me, it is infinite) it’s happening! We both agreed we wanted to create a comic our parents would read and enjoy, a big war story. It’s been decades since I created a comic from scratch working with another creator, and I couldn’t ’t be more happy and proud with what we’ve done. It’s a great fit for both of us, and my most solid, mature and personal work. I’m sure you’re gonna be surprised and love every panel as I’ve enjoyed and have gotten emotional first reading, and then creating the art for it. In Escape Rick and I shine as never before.”

Escape follows Milton Shaw, a battle-hardened bomber pilot flying missions over a war-torn world ruled by a ruthless empire. But when his plane is shot out of the sky, Milton wakes up behind enemy lines—in the smoldering ruins of a city he helped burn. And in less than 24 hours, his own side is dropping the big one to finish the job.

Now, injured, unarmed, and being hunted through enemy streets, Milton’s only shot at escape comes from the unlikeliest place: a grieving father and his son—civilians shattered by the same fascist regime that rules this land with an iron claw. Enemies by blood. Allies by circumstance. Together, they’ll have to fight their way out before the bomb drops and erases everything…and everyone.

Escape #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, August 20:

Cover B 1:15 copy incentive by Michael Wm. Kaluta
Cover C 1:25 copy incentive by Steve Epting
Cover D 1:50 copy incentive by Tradd Moore

Une interview de Geoff Johns :

Geoff Johns talks the end of the Glowing Woman arc in GEIGER, where the Northerner is going next after REDCOAT, the return of ROOK:EXODUS and all things Ghost Machine

GEIGER #15 hits stores next Wednesday and wraps up The Glowing Woman arc featuring Ashley Arden. Although she and Geiger share a lot of similarities, they are also very different. Was it always the plan to make them two sides of the same coin?

GEOFF JOHNS: One of the biggest differences between them is that Tariq remembers the world before the war, before the bombs dropped. He remembers his family and the world as it was before he became The Glowing Man. Ashley was born into the post-war world after it became desolated, desperate, and unforgiving. That distinction in their history gives them unique perspective and motivations.

REDCOAT #13 is out in July and features Part 3 of The Northerner arc. How important a character will The Northerner be in the world of The Unnamed going forward, and where will he show up next?

JOHNS: The last few pages of REDCOAT #13 will reveal that in some ways, though his story is only beginning. He’s an important character in the adventure we’re telling and ties in directly to the timeline found in all THE UNNAMED titles.

The Matinee Monster’s debut in HYDE STREET #4 quickly sold out, and fans really love that character. Did you know he was something special when writing him?

JOHNS: When [artist and co-creator] Ivan [Reis] and I first began developing HYDE STREET, The Matinee Monster always felt special to us. He was born in the Golden Age of Hollywood, but embodies the desperate nature of those in it. He’s an actor, who only wants to be validated. And now he’s stuck, recast in a role that will lead him down an even darker path than the one he’s on. In issue #5 and #6, the great Francis Portela stepped in on the art, where we focus on the aerobics instructor from ’83 -- Miss Goodbody -- from the DEVOUR one-shot who will continue to play a major role in the series. In HYDE STREET #7, we get back to Pranky and his hunt of The Matinee Monster… with Mr. X-Ray always there, always planning… but not always prepared the way Pranky might be.

ROOK: EXODUS by you and Jason Fabok is coming back in the fall. Any update on what we can expect and when?

JOHNS: The second arc of stories begin in October with ROOK: EXODUS #7. We know a lot of readers wanted it sooner, but Jay and I always agreed that we’d only put out ROOK when the next story was ready to come out on a monthly cadence. We could re-number this, but we don’t want to do a series of mini-series, we’ll be telling it in chapters. Five-to-six issues at a time. It’s a special book both because it’s a character Jay has literally been drawing and conceptualizing since he was a teenager, and because – quite honestly – the complexity of the characters, design, world and mythology makes it take longer to write, draw, color, and even letter than anything else at Ghost Machine. We hope all of you who have been patient with us will feel rewarded this October—new wardens, new threats, new secrets revealed about the world of Exodus and the people that protect it. It’s a very, very special title.

Last question: everyone as a favorite Ghost Machine book, what’s your favorite?

JOHNS: Don’t ask me that! [Laughs] Of the books I work on, honestly, it’s whichever one I’m writing that day. GEIGER is always going to be special to me because it’s—in many ways—where Ghost Machine started with me and Gary [Frank]. When Bryan [Hitch] and I talk our REDCOAT issues, there’s a life that erupts, as Simon speaks to both of us, taking us on journeys – some of which we couldn’t predict. Writing Simon Pure is just fun, rollicking through American History. ROOK is big, expansive sci-fi. Anytime Jay [Fabok] and I work together, we both feel like we need to think bigger with every panel, page, and issue. And HYDE STREET gives me the chance to play with character-centered horror and mystery with one of the greatest illustrators on the planet. [Artist and co-creator] Ivan [Reis] fills every resident with a fair amount of visual empathy. It’s unleashing my love of Twlight Zone, Tales From The Crypt, the classic monsters, and my favorite horror in all media and literature, with its own twist. But, what’s really fun for me is reading THE ROCKETFELLERS and HORNSBY & HALO. Every step of the way from the scripting coming in to first proofs to final printed issue is a blast to watch those titles come together. I love the family dynamic Pete [Tomasi] and Francis [Manapul] are building in THE ROCKETFELLERS, and Pete and Peter Snejbjerg’s H&H is an absolute joy to read – two kids at the center of a war between heaven and hell. It new. And unpredictable. That’s one of the many reasons I’m proud of what we’re all doing.
