The Boys revient!

https://www.newsarama.com/48739-gart...ear-becky.html

Citation:

The Boys are returning to comics, or at least what's left of them, with their original writer and creator Garth Ennis for the sequel, Dear Becky.

Following the massive success of the comics and Prime adaptation, with over 150,000 omnibuses sold in 2019, Garth Ennis (Punisher, Preacher) returns to Wee Hughie, Billy Butcher, Vought and more in this hotly anticipated new entry. Picking up in-story 12 years after the finale of the 90 issue epic run, the marriage of Hughie and Annie (Starlight) is derailed by a mysterious document that threatens to rip open the scars of the past and reveal nightmarish truths about The Boys.

Joining Ennis on this series are some returning greats. Russ Braun (Fables, Hellstorm) picks right back up on interiors years later, after drawing a large chunk of the original series following series co-creator Darick Robertson. Robertson (Transmetropolitan, Wolverine) returns to contribute covers. For his first, Robertson once more calls back to the very first cover with The Boys looking down on something, as was also seen with #7 and #50.

"Originally I never intended to do more with The Boys at all, but for obvious reasons I’ve found myself thinking about the story and characters again over the past couple of years," said writer Garth Ennis. "There was one aspect of the original story, and one character in particular, that I never felt got a fair shake - Becky Butcher, whose demise motivates her husband Billy to do the terrible things he does, but who only actually appears in two issues of the original book. I liked writing Becky very much, almost as much as Butcher himself, and I wanted to look in greater detail at how her relatively brief appearance cast such a long shadow."

Darick Robertson adds, "This comic has always been close to my heart and seeing the response to the show and the new drove of readers discovering the original material, makes the timing for this series a wonderful opportunity to bring fresh material to the new readers as well as a treat for the original fans. Revisiting these characters is a nice feeling, and creating covers for the series and collaborating with Ennis again is a treat."

Using a flashback structure, Dear Becky will flesh out both the pre-history of The Boys, call back to classic moments, and move the story forward. It's an indispensable chapter for all fans of The Boys, going back nearly 15 years or new to the story from the show.

"We were extremely pleased with the entire Boys series, and felt that it was one of Garth and Darick's greatest works – and that is saying something!,” said Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher. “When Garth came back to with a new story, we were surprised but also excited of course. Once he clued us in, we were floored. It's gratifying that Darick has been able to make time for the covers with his current schedule, and having Russ Braun return to draw the series too. We’re excited to bring this new yarn to fans and retailers!"

Created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys debuted in 2006 at Wildstorm, but was canceled and picked up by Dynamite. Running until 2012, the series attracted both critical praise and controversy as Ennis infused it with his trademark wit and criticisms of society and the superhero. In 2019 Amazon Studios released a television adaptation of the series to their Prime platform, developed by Erik Kripke and starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty and others. Out the gate, the series was a success with high user ratings and viewership, glowing reviews and viral engagement. A second season is set to release this year. To accompany the show, Dynamite recollected the entire comic series into six affordable paperback omnibus volumes, each featuring an official alternate photo cover. The series sold over 150,000 copies through 2019, rushing back to press multiple times.

Dynamite will also release a promotional poster of The Boys, perfect for both retailers and fans to advertise the series or show off their fandom. Additionally, all six volumes of The Boys Omnibus are available to catch up on the original comic, as well as art books and collectibles.

THE BOYS: DEAR BECKY #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ February 2020 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in April 2020. Comic book fans are encouraged to preorder copies of the issue with their local comic book retailers. It will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more!

At last week's ComicsPRO Summit, Dynamite Entertainment announced a new Savage.. something. But Savage what? Well, this is the classic Marvel Comics logo to their Savage Tales comic book for a start.

Two Savage Tales were black-and-white comics-magazine anthologies published by Marvel Comics, and the other a colour comic book anthology published by Dynamite Entertainment. Could Dynamite be doing it again – or something else that's savage?

Christopher Priest has radically transformed the Vampirella comic over the last two volumes at Dynamite Entertainment. If everyone hadn't been fussing so much over the covergate issues that plagued Dynamite, they may have noticed one of the more radical treatises on race in America playing out, in Vampirella of all place. But then horror has often been a place where America (and Britain for that matter) has talked about its ugliest sins in the most frank and incisive fashion, albeit it obscured to some by the copious blood, injury to eye motifs and generally body horror of it all. And at last week's ComicsPRO Summit, Dynamite Entertainment announced that Christopher Priest would be shifting into Phase Three of his Vampirella storytelling with "an all-new epic coming soon"

Big news from Dynamite! The publisher announced today an exciting list of comic series and more, including graphic novels and facsimile reprints, featuring the beloved Disney Television Animation series Gargoyles starting later this year.

Read details below:

Gargoyles fans will be thrilled to hear that franchise creator Greg Weisman is officially signed on to write and shepherd the new stories to be published as periodical comics and graphic novels. The original tales will be authentic to the original storylines, serving as a “new season” for fans to enjoy, while being perfectly approachable for newcomers to this awesome world.

Gargoyles

On that note, those back issues of Gargoyles are highly sought after by fans, with many hard to track down or going for premiums in the market. Dynamite will be helping fans seeking out these stories and bringing them to a new audience by releasing key issues again as facsimile editions at an affordable price for select issues. In addition to that, for fans who have wanted to read the entire run, the stories will then be remastered and compiled into paperback volumes to present the full stories for the shelf. Creators involved with these comics include Amanda Conner, Joe Madureira, Jimmy Palmiotti, Martin Pasko, Grant Miehm, and Mort Todd. The new comics, facsimiles, and graphic novels are scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Gargoyles stars a cast of the eponymous stone creatures who patrol New York City as night-time guardians. Acclaimed for its serious tone, complex arcs, and themes, the show ran for multiple seasons from 1994 to 1997. Greg Weisman served as a chief creator and driver of the series, and later continued the story of the show in comics.

Further details on release scheduling, creative teams, and more properties to be announced soon, as Dynamite and Disney strive to bring fans the best stories and experiences.

Citation:

Dynamite Entertainment has announced a March release for a Rocketman & Rocketgirl special. The book is written by Jacob Edgar and drawn by Jordi Perez.

Here's how Dynamite describes the title:

"After seemingly foiling a daring bank heist, Rocketman and Rocketgirl find themselves in a deep web of mystery with a case like no other. They uncover a complex conspiracy, discovering that Nazi agents are hell-bent on stealing rocket technology for themselves. This tale set in 1940s New York City is full of super-charged thrills and a classic superhero saga for all ages!"

"Rocket Man and Rocket Girl gave me the perfect opportunity to write something that echoed the kind of comics I loved as a kid," Edgar said. "A self-contained, action-packed superhero adventure story. At the same time, I also tried to fill the sandbox, as it were, with some characters and ideas that could potentially be played with again."

Previously appearing only as cameos in Dynamite's Project Superpowers saga with Alex Ross, this will be the publisher's first dedicated spotlight on this pair of high-flying heroes.

Edgar also contributes a cover to the issue. He's joined by Lesley "Leirix" Li and Giorgio Spalletta as cover artists.

Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products are teaming up for licensed comics in 2024 with fan-favorite series like Thundercats, The Flintstones, The Powerpuff Girls, and more on the way. The projects will range from comics to graphic novels, kicking off with Thundercats in February by Declan Shalvey, Drew Moss, and letterer Jeff Eckleberry.

Projects on the way include ThunderCats, The Flintstones, The Powerpuff Girls, Space Ghost, Jonny Quest, The Wizard of Oz, We Bare Bears, with more to come! The collaboration might surprise some–DC Comics even put out their own Flintstones comics a few years ago–but it’s not uncommon for these kinds of collaborations. Dynamite already publishes Disney villain comics, so why not work with Warner Discovery, who happens to own DC Comics?

“Warner Bros. has been at the heart of entertainment in America and across the world for an incredible hundred years, and home to so many beloved stories and franchises,” said Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher. “We’re incredibly excited to bring many of them with the biggest and most passionate fanbases back to comics or for the first time, as we work with WBD and wonderful creators to bring all-new stories to the fans!”

Le Space Ghost arrive chez Dynamite en mai avec David Pepose et Jonathan Lau aux commandes :

The Warner Bros. property is the latest series to land at Dynamite who in 2023 made some big announcements with comics from Disney and Warner Bros. The tease of Space Ghost’s return was in the debut issue of ThunderCats by Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss.

Space Ghost debuted in 1966 from Hanna-Barbera voiced by Gary Owens and designed by Alex Toth. The hero was very much a sci-fi adventure with Space Ghost flying around blasting villains with his power bands and becoming invisible. Since then, the character has had some revivals becoming a talk show host with Space Ghost Coast to Coast and most recently appeared in comics published by DC including his own series in 2005, in Future Quest in 2016, and teaming up with Green Lantern in 2017.

Toujours San Diego et cette fois ça concerne Geoffo qui retrouve Dennis Culver mais aussi l'acteur Kyle Allen et le producteur Anders Ravenstad pour Fiberglass :

https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2...FG001cover.jpg

Citation:

For San Diego Comic Con, Dynamite Entertainment, Kyle Allen, Anders Ravenstad, writer Dennis Culver, artist Geoffo, and all others involved are excited to announce and tease details about an upcoming epic tale and franchise titled Fiberglass, set to initially debut soon.

Fiberglass is a gut-wrenching, brain-melting, lovestruck tale of the world that exists just beyond our sight and just out of our reach. The ambitious project will juggle an eye-widening visual style, memorable heartfelt characters, and an intricate lore. In the midst of this world we meet CORY SALAMANCA as one bad day throws them into the ancient and complicated web of crime that the city was secretly built upon. Cory’s only chance at survival is the covert group of operatives known as FIBERGLASS who are desperately trying to keep the gangs of the UNDERGROUND EMPIRE in check. Even if that means sacrificing Cory in the process!

Set in a unique vision of New York City that crashes through a neon labyrinth of back alleys and hidden passageways filled with graffiti and heartbreak, Fiberglass will drag you kicking and screaming into the secret lore of the City, where power waits to be taken and history is written in BLOOD.

“Seven years of endlessly wandering New York City researching and reimagining it’s histories and mysteries, brought together by a truly incredible partnership with Anders Ravenstad, then cue about six false starts, countless rewrites,” said writer Kyle Allen. “Mix in the incredible team at Dynamite, the course-correcting wisdom of Dennis Culver, the visual super stardom that is Geoffo, and a literal village of dear friends contributing ideas and urging us not to give up…. that all brings you Fiberglass. Which is special to me not because I made it up, but because I can no longer tell which parts I made up. The theme of the story is how the story was made. ‘It’s only impossible when we do it alone.'”

Anders Ravenstad adds, “Kyle and I are creatives formed by our love of comics and introducing readers to our world through this medium is an absolute privilege. This is an insane, colorful, complex story and the tireless efforts made by Dennis, Geoffo, and the Dynamite Team to help bring this vision to life is nothing short of monumental. When I think of people devouring our comics in the same way I did so many others in my local comic shop Fantasy Books and Games I don’t know what to do with myself. Now that we’ve found our way to the other side of the page I’m overjoyed to finally say: Welcome to Fiberglass.”

Fans will know Kyle Hamilton Allen for his diverse acting roles. His breakout performance came in the Hulu series The Path, alongside Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan. He has also appeared in the hit American Horror Story: Apocalypse, as the Jets gang member Balkan in Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed modern adaptation of West Side Story, and most recently in Kenneth Branagh’s A Haunting in Venice.

His key creative partner on Fiberglass is indie director/producer Anders Jay Ravenstad, a longtime friend and film industry colleague specializing in worldbuilding and story development.

Rising star Dennis Culver (Unstoppable Doom Patrol, Crone) joins them on the project adapting their incredible story for comics. He’s joined by his longtime Burnouts and Future State: Gotham collaborator Geoffo (Spider-Gwen, Time Before Time) whose electric art brings the dazzling world of Fiberglass to life!
“I’m incredibly thrilled to work with Kyle and Anders on Fiberglass!,” said writer Dennis Culver. “During the development of this book we discovered by some magical stroke of luck that the three of us lived mere blocks from each other. It’s been an absolute pleasure meeting face to face and making comics together in our living rooms. And just when I thought I couldn’t be any happier about this book, we brought in Geoffo on art! Geoffo and I have been great friends since we worked together on a book for Marvel, so much so that we’ve kept making books together! Having the chance to once more create comics with him makes my heart soar! Fiberglass is going to blow you away. We’re all pouring our hearts into this one so make sure you check it out!”

“Kyle and Anders are such passionate and talented young creative forces, and we were brought together to discuss how we could collaborate on this incredible vision they have,” said Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher. “Comics are the perfect medium and platform to introduce everyone to Fiberglass, and the bounds of this world and characters on and off the page are limitless. They have created a rich and exciting world, wanted to bring it to comics first and foremost, and to work alongside strong creators just as passionate about their craft, which is where Dennis Culver and Geoffo came into the picture. Altogether it’s an incredible team for a thrilling story, and we can’t wait for readers to experience it!”

More information about the format, release timing, creators involved, and the intricate lore of Fiberglass will be revealed soon!

Kyle Allen and Anders Ravenstad are represented by Brian Nossokoff of United Talent Agenecy, Beau Swayze of Entertainment 360, and Huy Nguyen of HJTH.

Nick Barrucci and Dynamite Entertainment are represented by Charles Ferraro at United Talent Agency, Ford Gilmore of Illuminati Entertainment, and Michael Lovitz of Lovitz IP Law.

Following its success with the ThunderCats comics based on the 1980s animated series, Dynamite is launching a new comic, SilverHawks, which is based on the sci-fi themed followup to ThunderCats and marks the start of a new umbrella franchise that will include both series and possibly more.

The animated SilverHawks series was launched in 1986 as a followup to ThunderCats and features metal-enhanced heroes fighting in outer space. Ed Brisson will be the writer for Dynamite’s SilverHawks comic, working with artist George Kambadais. The series will delve into the backstory of the characters and expand the world of the series while building toward a larger story of a cosmic battle. The first issue will be released in January 2025 with covers by Lucio Parrillo, Jae Lee, James Stokoe, ThunderCats writer Declan Shalvey, Geraldo Borges, and Manix.

In announcing the new series, Dynamite stated that they are officially incorporating a family of titles that will include ThunderCats, SilverHawks, as well as spinoffs and potentially other titles as well.

Dynamite announced a licensing deal with ThunderCats and SilverHawks parent company WB Discovery in 2023 (see “Dynamite to Publish Comics Tied to Warner Bros. Animated Series”). Their first release under the license was ThunderCats, which launched with a splash when initial orders for the first issue reached 170,000 (see “Orders Hit 170K for ‘Thundercats’ #1”). That first issue was the top-selling comic in the history of the company, and Dynamite has since announced several spinoffs, including ThunderCats: Cheetara, which launched in July 2024 (see “Preview: ‘Thundercats: Cheetara’ #1”) and Thundercats: Apex, a one-shot by Brisson and Rapha Lobosco that will be released in December 2024.

Nouvelle acquisition de licence avec Captain Planet dès avril par David Pepose et Eman Casallos :

Citation:

Earth’s ultimate protector returns for a new era of stories, as Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products present Captain Planet in an epic new comic series starting this April.

“Every comic creator has their own personal white whale — that singular property they’ve been itching to make their mark on — and for more than a decade Captain Planet has been mine,” said writer David Pepose.

Five ordinary young people from around the world must become humanity’s last hope after being chosen to wield elemental rings of Gaia, the High Priestess of Earth. Each Planeteer suddenly finds themselves equipped with abilities aligned with one of the world’s elemental forces: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart. And in the most dire circumstances, the five can combine these powers together to summon the globe’s greatest champion — Captain Planet!

Kwame from Ghana wields the power of Earth.
Wheeler hails from the United States and channels Fire.
Linka’s origins are in Russia and she can manipulate Wind.
Gi traces back to South Korea and can control Water.
Ma-Ti is from Brazil and uses Heart.

Red-hot superstar writer David Pepose (Space Ghost, Cable) fuses his powers with artist Eman Casallos (Vampirella, Pathfinder) for the first comics series starring Captain Planet in over three decades. They’re kicking off the story with an energized, yet faithful modernization of the franchise, in the same vein as Pepose’s approach to the smash-hit Space Ghost series.

Before these would-be eco-warriors can grasp their own newfound powers in pursuit of environmental justice, they’re first going to have to learn to trust each other. It will be even more of a trial by fire experience when Gaia is kidnapped, forcing the inexperienced Planeteers to learn in action against the well-financed might of Lucian Plunder. Their first test against the ruthless exploiters of Earth won’t be the hardest, but it all starts here!

Pepose is ambitiously embracing bringing this beloved 1990s cartoon to the comics page, for the first time at this scale and tone. It will appeal both to those who grew up on the show and are now seasoned adults in tune with the real world headlines that inspire the challenges of the Planeteers, as well as their children and other younger readers. He has described the excitement in trying to balance a moment to shine in each and every issue for all the main characters, their own emotional arcs, showcasing the might of Captain Planet, and bringing in some of the show’s iconic villains.

The first issue is scheduled to release April 23, timed to the same week as Earth Day. Dynamite is also proud to announce that Captain Planet issues will be printed on 70% recycled paper, as with all of the publisher’s periodicals.

For this historic return of the iconic franchise, Dynamite has assembled a team just as diverse as the Planeteers to contribute jaw-dropping covers for the series. The first issue features variants by superstar Mark Spears, known for his Monsters series; Christian Ward; and Ben Oliver. The first six issues will also feature a special connecting set of covers by Jae Lee and June Chung.
CAPTAIN PLANET #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ February 2025 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in April 2025. Comic book fans are encouraged to preorder copies of the book with their local comic book retailers. It will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more!

“After teaming a cartoon dog and his crime-solving pals with a brooding billionaire vigilante, the logical next step in my career was to update the classic Wacky Races for the 2020s, blending the original cartoon with elements of pro wrestling, action films, and a hint of Furiosa for good measure,” said writer Ivan Cohen. “Editor Joe Rybandt gave me and artists Mariano Benitez Chapo and Nick Caponi the keys, and we’d really prefer not to give them back any time soon. I can’t wait for readers to see where we are taking Penelope Pitstop and the cast of the Wacky Races. To call it a wild ride is an understatement.”

The most eccentric auto enthusiasts to ever speed past the checkered flag are back in their drivers’ seats. The tough and beautiful Penelope Pitstop, the mysterious racing legend Peter Perfect, and last but certainly not least the moustache-twirling villainy of Dick Dastardly (plus Muttley!) are back in action. This oversized one-shot and its high-powered creative team are firing on all cylinders to bring fans all of the elements that made the original Wacky Races animated series so exciting, from the iconic cast to their inventive conveyances.

This special release features 40 pages of story and artwork, with cardstock covers, at Dynamite’s standard price! It features a trio of super-streamlined variant covers from top in class artists Joseph Michael Linsner, Edwin Galmon, and Robert Hack. Mr. Hack’s cover is extra fun, with a throwback style reminiscent of classic Silver Age comics, yet also perfect for the autosports nature of Wacky Races!

Writer Ivan Cohen’s diverse bibliography is a perfect match for this release, with his award-winning The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries being a great comparison for the Hanna-Barbera magic and timeless, all-ages appeal of Wacky Races. He’s joined by Mariano Benitez Chapo, a recent graduate of the prestigious Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, who has contributed to titles like Savage Tales previously.

GIANT-SIZE WACKY RACES will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ February 2025 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in April 2025. Comic book fans are encouraged to preorder copies of the book with their local comic book retailers. It will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital, ComicsPlus, and more!
