Press Release

In issue #77 of Batman, the unthinkable happened.

Readers everywhere were stunned to see Alfred Pennyworth—the faithful butler to not only Batman, but all the Bat-Family—meet a brutal end at the hands of Bane.

Alfred Pennyworth served the Wayne family for decades—even through the terrible loss of the Dark Knight’s parents. His shocking death at the hands of Bane is the only event that could possibly compare to that fateful night in Crime Alley, and it leaves Bruce at a similar crossroads. If Alfred was the glue that held the Bat-Family together, how will Batman deal with that all falling apart? And if the Caped Crusader is to be truly alone, he might either hang that cape up once and for all…or double down and carry on with this vengeful quest forever.

Co-written by James Tynion IV (Justice League, Justice League Dark, Detective Comics) and Peter J. Tomasi (Detective Comics, Adventures of the Super Sons, Batman and Robin) with art by Eddy Barrows (Freedom Fighters), Eber Ferreira (Blackest Night, Wonder Woman), and others, Batman: Pennyworth R.I.P. celebrates the life of one of the most important people in the history of Gotham City, while also addressing questions about what’s next.

This 48-page Prestige Format one-shot goes on sale at comic book stores and participating online retailers February 12, 2020. For the latest information on the World’s Greatest Super Heroes, visit the DC website at www.dccomics.com, the DC YouTube channel, or follow @DC Comics and @TheDCNation on social media.

DC's The Flash title will be celebrating 750 issues this February - and the publisher will mark the occasion with a 80-page prestige format anthology similar to the chart-topping Detective Comics #1000 and Action Comics #1000.

Reverting back to its legacy number for the occasion, The Flash #750 will be led off by a new story arc titled "The Flash Age" by long-time series writer Joshua Williamson with artists Rafa Sandoval and Jordi Tarragona.

"Barry Allen’s life is being torn apart by a supercharged Speed Force as the story Williamson’s been building toward since issue #50 comes to a head when a new threat appears on the horizon: the deadly Paradox," reads DC's description of the story. "Destined to destroy the Flash’s legacy, Paradox sends his herald, Godspeed, to trap the Flash family!"

Additional stories are promised by Marv Wolfman, Geoff Johns, Bryan Hitch, Francis Manapul, Stephen Segovia, Scott Kolins, Michael Moreci, David Marquez, and Riley Rossmo.

"The Flash is one of my favorite DC characters, so it's an honor to work on The Flash #750 with so many returning Flash legends!" said Williamson in a statement. "It's a showcase of awesome talent, each telling a story that celebrates what we love about the Flash and the Flash family. And what a perfect place to kick off our next epic storyline "The Flash Age!" 2020 is going to be a big year for The Flash. It all starts in this massive issue."

As with Detective Comics #1000 and Action Comics #1000, this milestone issue will also have a variants marking every decade the franchise has been in existence. The current line-up are 1940s (Nicola Scott), 1950s (Gary Frank), 1960s (Nick Derington), 1970s (Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez), 1980s (Gabrielle Dell'Otto), 1990s (Francesco Mattina), 2000s (Jim Lee and Scott Williams), and 2010s (Francis Manapul).

The Flash #750 is scheduled to be released February 26, 2020.

Press Release

Following the blockbuster 750th issues of The Flash and Wonder Woman, new adventures of The Fastest Man Alive and the Amazon warrior princess will keep the momentum going throughout 2020, as DC announced plans to return both titles to Legacy numbering, beginning with Wonder Woman #750 on January 22, Wonder Woman #751 on February 12, Wonder Woman #752 on February 25, Wonder Woman #753 on March 11 and Wonder Woman #754 on March 25. February 26 also sees the release of The Flash #750, with issue #751 following on March 11 and #752 on March 25.

“As with Action Comics and Detective Comics, Wonder Woman and The Flash are part of the DNA of the DC universe,” said SVP and Editor-In-Chief Bob Harras. “Resuming our Legacy numbering for these titles enables both past and current fans to embrace the rich history of both of these iconic characters and is a reaffirmation that in the DC universe, everything counts.”

In March, Princess Diana begins a new adventure with issue #753, written by Steve Orlando with art by Max Raynor, main cover by Robson Rocha (Aquaman) and Danny Miki (Superman: Year One) and variant cover by Jae Lee. Wonder Woman and a new warrior named Valda agree to put aside their differences to hunt a mythical beast bent on destroying all of Boston. Issue #754 takes Wonder Woman off-world to help Princess Maxima, the former ruler of Almerac, retake her throne and restore the planet’s peaceful matriarchy.

In The Flash #751, Writer Joshua Williamson continues “The Flash Age” saga as Barry Allen’s newest nemesis, Paradox enlists the aid of Godspeed to erase The Flash from existence. Williamson is joined by artist Rafa Sandoval, with main cover by Howard Porter and a variant cover by Junggeun Yoon.

Fan-favorite artist Porter returns on interiors for March 25th issue #752, where Barry has been exiled to Paradox’s realm, outside time and space, where he’s confronted by the ghosts of his past.
