This October, DC delves into a new world of myth, magic and lore in THE LAST GOD, from writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Last Sons of America, Jim Henson’s The Power of the Dark Crystal), artist Riccardo Federici (AQUAMAN, DARK NIGHTS: METAL-THE MURDER MACHINE) and colorist Dean White (ALL-STAR BATMAN, AMERICAN CARNAGE). The story will follow a cross-generational quest to kill an evil tyrant king—also known as the Last God—as he seeks to destroy the land of Cain Anuun. The 12-issue series begins October 30.

Set in two different generations, it follows a mighty fellowship of heroes that travels beyond the borders of creation to kill a god, and the next generation, who learn their predecessors aren’t the heroes the world believes them to be,” says Johnson.

Thirty years ago, a fellowship of legendary adventurers saved their world by slaying the demonic tyrant Mol Uhltep—The Last God. Following his downfall, the realm entered a new age of peace and prosperity. But a generation later, when the leader of the original fellowship dies, their children and successors learn their terrible lie:

The Last God still lives.

A new generation of heroes must unearth the secrets that their parents kept, and set out to finish what was started thirty years before. And this time, they must not fail.

“When I was asked to draw this series I was so excited, both because I love the fantasy genre, especially when there are horror connotations, but also because it was an opportunity to graphically create a new world,” says artist Federici. “Everyone on the team and at DC has shown me such confidence and I am so thankful.”

DC Publisher Dan DiDio added “This series reinforces DC’s commitment to working with the best storytellers, as well as our commitment to finding new and original concepts to publish.”

Un titre que je vais suivre de près pour voir si le scénario tient la route.

Autant les couvertures me laissent froid, autant les intérieurs, waw ! Et les couleurs de Dean WHITE :D :D :D

J'avoue, c'est très très intéressant ça. Je serai étonné que ça n'arrive pas en France... Urban va pouvoir se faire plaisir.

Je m'attends à une grande et belle aventure épique..... si les ventes suivent et le permettent. Car c'est tout de même annoncé comme le premier livre, j'espère que ça ne sera pas coupé dans son élan.

Pourquoi les gens l'achèteraient?
Si ça sortait, ils ne pourraient plus se plaindre que le Black Label n'est dédié qu'à Batman & Co... :beu:

Tu veux dire les mêmes qui pleuraient sur la fin de Vertigo et qui n'ont pas acheté chez Black Crown ou qui ignorent Berger Books?

Tu verras que, quand les previews de Harleen #2 et de Joker: Smile #1 vont tomber, ils seront sûrement là... :p

On tape sur les lecteurs, mais entre nous DC n'a pas fait une véritable bonne promo pour ce titre. Celui qui ne fait pas l'effort de parcourir les sollits ou le catalogue Previews passe facilement à côté.

Le 1er aperçu date de juin quand ça a été sollicité (depuis le site de DC qu'ont repris les sites principaux), il y a eu aussi des interviews.
Il y a eu des pubs dans les comics.

Pour être franc je suis passé à côté de cette promo, je m'y suis intéressé quand j'ai ouvert les sollits.

Je me suis toujours demandé ce qui se passe 30 ans après "le seigneur des anneaux" et la destruction de Sauron.:beu:

Pour moi le plus gros souci de ce comic c'est que la notion de Black Label n'est pas claire... avant, c'étaient des récits hors-continuité, mais de l'univers DC. Maintenant, c'est le bordel total... sauf que y a marqué DC, alors les gens s'attendent avant tout à du DC, pas à "ça". Je parle de "ça", mais moi, je suis conquis depuis les premiers visuels... j'espère juste qu'on évitera l'histoire banale qu'on a vu des centaines de fois en fantasy jusqu'à en vomir.
