Je mets les American Comic Book Chronicles car j ai lu les 80's et j arrive à la fin de celui de 196-64 et c est superbe..
Je vous encourage a regrader les previews....
Non seulement on apprend pas mal de choses.. (je savais pas que Wonderwoman revenait a son createur si DC ne publiait pas 4 numeros par an minimu.. je savais pas qu Avengers n'était qu un substitut car la série que devait faire Everett était en retard (DD??)) et quand on apprend pas, on remet en perspective et nous fait relever des contre vérités (DC était l editeur N1 avant marvel depuis longtemps, Marvel a vite renversé DC..)... ex DC ne devient N°1 qu a la chute de Dell (prix trop haut et séparation Dell/Western) en 61-62... et Marvel qu en 1973 (Lee n est plus auteur) ...
Bref Tout n a pas tant tourné autour de DC et Marvel toujours et pas toujours si longtemps qu on se met à le penser..
et encore je parle du volume 60-64 dans lequel je suis... mais le volume 80's m a donné un nouveau regard sur l essort des indés.. et le fait que le dirct Market est une des raisons des spin off, mini-series, GN mais aussi events/crossover... la craze des mag noir et blanc...

c est un peu cheros mais ca vaut le coup

Ils ont l'air fantastiques ces ouvrages !!
Que Dell ait été n°1 devant DC ne m'étonne pas du tout quand j'y repense,; par contre, Marvel ne passant devant DC qu'en 73, ça oui.

ben disons que je savais.. mais en même temps vu ce qu on dit toujours j avais l idee que DC avait dominé plus longtemps que ca .. et Marvel ona beau le savoir...(je l ai lu plusieurs fois dont recemment dans untold story) ca fait toujours bizarre de voir qu ils deviennent N°1 bien apres le "marvel age"
1973 c est plus la periode englehart que Lee ou même Thomas...
dans les raisons de la chute de Dell, tu as aussi le fait que les comics etaient toujours à 10 c depuis toujours mais qu il fallait augmenter...
Sur de leurs comics (en dehors de ce que tu cites il y a les adaptions de looney tunes aussi..et de pas mal de feuilletons mais aussi Woody woodpecker...), ils ont augmenté en 1er à 15 cents... les autres ont gardés leur prix à 10c le plus longtemps possible puis sont passés à 12 c...
Quand Dell a voulu revenir en arriere c etait trop tard et Western avait déjà décidé de se séparer d eux (pour fonder Gold Key)

C est pour ca que je disais que quand on sait ca remet parfois en perspective et là... on ouvre les yeux sur la temporalité..
Archie ca doit etre plus explicites dans la seconde partie des 60's (qui sera dans un autre volume)... là en 1963 ils arretent les superheros (Fly, Jaguar ...) ....

Quelqu'un d'autre a lu American Book chronicles ? Celui des années 70 va bientôt sortir.Son auteur a un nom français.
Les chapitres commencent toujours sur l'histoire des Etats-Unis .C'est prenant à lire ,pas trop dur au niveau de la langue .

Ce n est pas américain Cb chro!
C est une autre collec écrite par pierre comtois sur marvel et la, c est sur les80's
Chaque tome parle d'une decennie ; il fait des zooms sur des numéros après avoir fait des généralités ; il y a aussi des fiches auteurs.
J avais adoré le premier tome qui par exemple montrait l'étendue de l influence de ditko sur la narration marvel (il est le premier à feuilletonner sûrement car il a rapidement la confiance de Lee sur les plots)
Par contre comtois est un fan des60's et son avis sur les scénariste des années 70 m a fait lacher le tome 2
Gerber et les autres sont pas moins bons que Lee pour moi

Mon regret : celui sur Darwyn Cooke n'est jamais sorti (on sait pourquoi d'ailleurs?).

Sinon, on sait s'ils prévoient de faire un ACBC : the 2000s? avec minimum 10 de recul maintenant, ça me semble jouable.
