Scott Snyder tease la suite pour Absolute Batman :
As one of the best-selling comic of 2024, it's fair to say that Absolute Batman has already been a huge success for DC (almost as big as its central character, in fact) but series writer Scott Snyder is clearly planning far ahead. Talking in an in-depth interview with the The Comic Watchers Show on YouTube last week, Snyder revealed several intriguing titbits about what's to come in the series over the next few months, including that while he has already plotted the first 24 issues of the series too.
The series' first big arc, 'The Zoo' wraps up this month with Absolute Batman #6. Following that will be a two-issue story about Mr. Freeze that Snyder says "ties into what you read in the first arc and sets up the second one." Marcos Martín is the artist on those issues, and Snyder calls his work "unbelievable" while promising a new design for Freeze and "a lot of fun revelations about who he is."
After that will be an arc-focused on the Bat-breaker himself. "Starting with #9, it's a Bane arc, which I'm very excited about, and it really deals with Ark M and what it is," revealed Snyder. "Bruce is desperately trying to figure out what they're building there and what it is underneath this prison, and it's like a real horror show. So you get a bunch of villain revelations there." That arc will run through issues #9-14.

DC today announced the return of its Eisner and Ringo award-winning DC Pride anthology comic book this June. This year, for its fifth anniversary spotlighting DC’s LGBTQIA+ Super Heroes, the DC Pride anthology transforms from a collection of short stories into a singular story arc of interweaving narratives told by comic book creators Tim Sheridan, Vita Ayala, Josh Trujillo, Skylar Patridge, A.L. Kaplan, Max Sarin, and more. DC Pride 2025 will be published on June 4, 2025, along with a series of DC Pride-inspired variant covers publishing through the month of June. Visit your local comic book shop to preorder DC Pride 2025 and add DC’s Pride-themed variant covers to your pull list.
DC Pride 2025 brings DC’s heroes together when a century-old tavern, the center of queer life in Gotham City, unexpectedly announces its imminent closure. It’s a huge loss to the community, and generations of patrons return to pay respects to a space they’ve endowed with entire lifetimes of memories, wishes and dreams—including Alan Scott, the Green Lantern. Alan returns, for one last time, to the place he fell for his first love, Johnny Ladd, to touch the wall on which they carved the symbol of their love, to remember the days before everything went to hell for them…and to say goodbye.
But love is a kind of magic, and, in Alan’s experience, magic can take on a life of its own. Before anyone knows it’s happening, heroes, villains, and civilians alike from across the DCU with powerful ties to this mysterious place—the Question, Midnighter and Apollo, Harley Quinn, Green Lantern Jo Mullein, Bunker, Connor Hawke, and Blue Snowman among them—find themselves spirited away to strange, alternate worlds where everything they ever thought they wanted can be theirs…but at what cost?
“DC Pride 2025 is a celebration of life, love and the power of community—even and especially in uncertain times,” said Tim Sheridan, writer of the GLAAD Media Award-nominated series Alan Scott: The Green Lantern. “The roster of talent shaping this story is as epic as the story itself—so all I can say is buckle up for big action, bigger fun, and the biggest stakes yet. This book, as it has been in years past, is a way to reach out to our community and remind them we’re all in this together.”
Framed by Alan Scott’s return to the bar, in stories by Tim Sheridan, Emilio Pilliu and Giulio Macaione, DC Pride 2025 will feature Jo Mullein’s story by Vita Ayala, Maya Houston and Vincent Cecil, new character Ethan Rivera’s story by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, Josh Trujillo and A.L. Kaplan, Connor Hawke’s story by Sam Maggs and Phillip Sevy, Bunker’s story by Josh Trujillo and Don Aguillo, Harley Quinn’s story by Maya Houston and Max Sarin, Blue Snowman’s story by Jude Ellison S. Doyle, Renee Montoya’s story by Vita Ayala and Skylar Patridge, and Midnighter and Apollo’s story by Sam Maggs and Derek Charm. By taking a writers room approach to DC Pride, each creative team collaboratively builds towards a common goal: a comic book that’s all in on hope, empowerment, community, and chasing light in the dark.
“It is such a huge honor to be part of the story DC has been telling,” said Jude Ellison S. Doyle, writer of the GLAAD Media Award-nominated series The Neighbors, “and to help Josh Trujillo bring new character Ethan Rivera—along with my own personal soulmate and/or best friend, trans icon Blue Snowman—into this universe. It’s also my first chance to work with A.L. Kaplan since Maw, and he’s a future legend who continues to awe me with his work. It was just really great, and healing, to hang out with a bunch of queer people and make some comics, and I could not have hoped to meet a more talented group of people.”
“What made this project extra special to me,” said Vita Ayala, writer of the GLAAD Media Award-nominated series New Mutants, “was the way that the collaboration of creating the anthology almost mirrors the framework and ultimate solution of the metaphor at the heart of it. We got together in a (virtual) room, each with ideas for our own piece of the narrative, and at the end of the time we had interwoven our stories in ways that make it hard to tell where one person’s contribution ends and another begins. We approached the work as collaborators, and ended up creating a community space that (we hope) welcomes everyone in from the cold, no matter what door (or which individual short story) people came through.”
DC Pride 2025, a triumphant and timely story of community written by Vita Ayala, Jude Ellison S. Doyle, Maya Houston, Sam Maggs, Tim Sheridan, and Josh Trujillo with art by Don Aguillo, Vincent Cecil, Derek Charm, A.L. Kaplan, Giulio Macaione, Skylar Patridge, Emilio Pilliu, Max Sarin, and Phillip Sevy, and more, will publish on June 4, 2025. The 96-page Prestige format comic will feature a main cover by Kris Anka and variant covers by Sozomaika, Julia Reck and Jack Hughes (1:25), all priced at $9.99 US (card stock).
Additionally, the DC Community team wants to hear DC Pride stories directly from fans! Submissions are open from March 3 to March 28 through the DC Official Discord Server for fans to share how the legacy of DC’s storytelling has impacted, or reflected, their LGBTQIA+ identity, journey or experience. Once submissions have closed, DC’s editorial team will select a handful of letters, cosplay and fan art, to be published in a letters column within the pages of DC Pride 2025.
Throughout its line of monthly comic books, DC will continue to highlight DC Pride-themed variant covers on series that feature queer characters in regular and lead roles. This year, look for DC Pride covers on Detective Comics #1098 (Stephen Byrne), Harley Quinn #52 and Poison Ivy #34 (Betsy Cola), Justice League Unlimited #8 (Hayden Sherman), JSA #6 (Don Aguillo), Superman #27 (Rachael Stott), and Wonder Woman #22 (Kevin Wada).
For the book market, the fourth iteration of DC’s multiple-award-winning Pride celebration, DC Pride: To the Farthest Reaches (ISBN 9781799501527), is available as a hardcover collection wherever books are sold on May 27, 2025, for $19.99 US. In this universe-spanning travelogue with a cover by Kevin Wada, DC’s beloved queer characters take readers on a raucous tour through the Fourth World, Naltor, A-Town, the Phantom Zone, Portworld, the Oblivion Bar, and more in a volume that celebrates how the LGBTQIA+ community is everywhere and belongs anywhere—even the very farthest reaches of the universe. This hardcover collects DC Pride 2024 and additional stories spotlighting queer characters as realized by DC’s vast stable of queer and allied creators, including Phil Jimenez, Al Ewing, Ngozi Ukazu, Nicole Maines, Stephen Byrne, Claire Roe, Giulio Macaione, and more!
Also on May 27, 2025, DC will publish DC Pride Box Set (ISBN 9781799501589), a $39.99 US bright, bold, and beautiful box set with a cover by Gabriel Picolo collecting the first three hardcover volumes of DC Pride! The DC Pride Box Set includes over 70 incredible queer-focused stories and illustrations, brought to you by an all-star lineup of queer and ally talent including Grant Morrison, James Tynion IV, Mariko Tamaki, Nicole Maines, Trung Le Nguyen, Klaus Janson, Vita Ayala, Zoe Thorogood, and many, many more. Also featuring an extensive tribute to trailblazing writer Rachel Pollack and Kevin Conroy’s celebrated autobiographical comic “Finding Batman,” in which the man behind the beloved voice of the Dark Knight details his journey from childhood to hero in the hearts of fans everywhere. This three-book set features hardcover editions of DC Pride: Love and Justice, DC Pride: The New Generation, and DC Pride: Better Together.
In addition to DC Pride: To the Farthest Reaches and the DC Pride Box Set, DC has a vast catalogue of books to add to your TBR pile, pull list, Pride-themed book club, in-store Pride display, and to share with friends. Priced at $9.99 US and available everywhere books are sold on June 17, 2025, Batwoman: Elegy: DC Compact Comics Edition is the latest classic DC adventure to hit shelves. Written by bestselling writer Greg Rucka with art by acclaimed artists J.H. Williams III, Jock, and Scott Kolins, Batwoman: Elegy is a visually stunning landmark tale which reveals the shocking origin that set the foundation for one of the DC Universe’s most prominent LGBTQIA+ characters.
DC also announced that it will add DC Pride comics to its DC GO! webcomics collection beginning in June, adapting titles from the past four DC Pride anthologies into the vertical scroll format. During June, DC GO! will release two DC Pride episodes a day, Monday through Friday for the entire month, with all 42 episodes available to read in the same format as original DC GO! webcomics like Harley Quinn in Paradise, Nothing Butt Nightwing, and more.

DC Comics has revealed that New History of the DC Universe will be coming to comic shops on June 25th. Written by Mark Waid and featuring art by a rotating group of premiere artists, starting with Jerry Ordway and Todd Nauck, the four-issue series takes a fresh look at the DC Universe’s past and present, seen through the eyes of Barry Allen, a.k.a. the Flash.
“This is my dream project,” said series writer Waid. “It’s a chance to realign all of DC’s sprawling continuity into one master timeline, and to be joined by some of comics’ greatest artists to make it shine. With new information for even longtime fans, plus Easter eggs galore, this series will be an essential read for DC fans.”
Waid will chronicle Barry Allen’s journey from the birth of the DC Universe to the rise of the Justice Society and the Golden Age of Heroes.
“I’m having an absolute blast with this project,” said co-artist Nauck. “Mark has come up with something cool for me to draw on every page, and it’s been an honor to share art chores with a comics legend like Jerry Ordway. The DC editorial team has coordinated a wealth of deep-dive references for me to draw from, and I’m learning new aspects of DC history I hadn’t known before—and I’ve been reading DC comics for decades!”
“As one of the artists who was part of Crisis on Infinite Earths in the 1980’s, added co-artist Jerry Ordway, I am thrilled to be involved in telling the story of this newest DC Universe with Mark and Todd.”
There’s also a star-studded lineup of cover artists with the first issue featuring a main cover from Chris Samnee, as well as variant covers by Dan Mora (Justice League Unlimited, Superman), Ryan Sook (Black Canary: Best of the Best), and Mike Cho. Sook also provides a breathtaking wraparound foil variant, with an additional foil variant from acclaimed cover artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau. Artist Scott Koblish will provide a series of connecting wraparound variant covers for the series, depicting DC’s iconic characters chronologically with each issue.

A new face of villainy may appear, leading to a Long Halloween full of costumed criminals. The cast of DC High Volume: Batman features Jason Spisak (Young Justice, Arcane) as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Jay Paulson (Mad Men, Catch-22) as Lt. James Gordon, Reba Buhr (Next Gen) as Catwoman/Seline Kyle, Adam O’Byrne (AMC’s Interview with the Vampire) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Mike Starr (Goodfellas, Ed Wood) as Carmine Falcone, Simon Vance (Bring Up the Bodies, Rod: The Autobiography of Rod Stewart) as Alfred Pennyworth, Dan Gill (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) as The Joker, Jesse Burch (Fall Out: New Vegas) as The Riddler, Michelle Lukes (Alexander, Strike Back) as Poison Ivy and Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma) as The Penguin.
“DC is committed to creating new ways to reach a broader audience with engaging, accessible and high-production value adaptations of our most iconic and essential Batman comic stories, including the audio format,” said Anne DePies, SVP and General Manager, DC. “We want to offer audiences who may be new to DC a jumping on point for the Batman franchise, driving them back to our books, while engaging existing fans, podcast enthusiasts and audiobook listeners with direct adaptations that bring their favorite stories to life as faithfully as possible.”
DC High Volume: Batman launches April 2nd, 2025, with the first 2 episodes adapting chapters 1 & 2 of the iconic Batman: Year One storyline (Batman #404 & #405), followed by new episodes released every Wednesday. Sweet Tooth creator Jeff Lemire and artist Dustin Nguyen are reuniting to create a follow up to their 2022 limited series, Robin & Batman. Where the original run of that series retold the early days of the Caped Crusader's partnership with Dick Grayson, this new three-issue limited series focuses instead on Jason Todd, the troubled second Robin who fought by Bruce Wayne's side during the '80s before being murdered by the Joker.
"Batman has a new Robin, Jason Todd" reads DC's synopsis for the new series. "Jason is a rash, impulsive and reckless kid with a troubled past, who Batman was certain could be molded into Gotham's next protector. But can the Dark Knight save Jason Todd from the darkness within himself? And when a mysterious new villain, shrouded in white cloth and mystery, sets his sights on Jason, Batman realizes that even he has what it takes to train the anger and torment out of his new young ward."

Bientot le retour de la Legion des Super-Heros d'apres Mark Waid.
Mark Waid says a version of the team we'll all "embrace" is on their way back to us.
Waid - who is one of DC's key writers these days - says that the Legion of Superheroes will return "soon," and says despite all the different versions of the team that have existed over the years, the one DC has chosen to use is one he's "confident everyone will embrace" no matter when they first got into the group.

As part of DC’s Summer of Superman celebrations across the next few months — a publishing slate that ties in with James Gunn’s big-screen reboot of the Man of Steel — the company will be issuing Superman: The World, a hardcover anthology title featuring Superman stories from creators around the world. DC has now offered details of just which creators… and there are some surprising names to be found.
Spain’s Jorge Jiménez, who’s no stranger to Clark Kent and his alter ego — in addition to a run as artist on the main Superman title a few years back, he’s also the artist on April’s Summer of Superman Special #1 — will write and draw ‘Superman in Grenada’ for the anthology, with Justice League Unlimited’s Alejandro Sánchez providing colors; the story will see a temporarily powerless Superman recuperate in the Spanish city after saving the world. It’ll be the second solo writing credit for Jiménez at DC; he’s previously written a Batman: Black and White short, which can be found in 2022’s Batman: Black and White collection. (He’d also helped plot some Justice League issues during Scott Snyder’s run as writer.)
The Riddler: Year One and Batman: Full Moon artist Stevan Subic jumps from Gotham’s Dark Knight to the Man of Tomorrow with ‘My Choice, Protecting the Light,’ the Serbian entry for the anthology, in which Superman has to protect a small town in Serbia which also happens to be the only source of Kryptonite in the world… just as an intergalactic villain has decided he’d like the deadly mineral all for himself.
The American entry for the book comes from the Superman: Lois and Clark creative team of Dan Jurgens and Lee Weeks; the two offer up ‘Let Slip the Dogs of War,’ a story that sees Superman have to deal with not only an extraterrestrial threat, but also his own government at its worst.
The full line-up of stories in Superman: The World, accompanied by creators, is below:
Let Slip the Dogs of War by Dan Jurgens and Lee Weeks (USA)
The Last Seed of Krypton by Mauro Mantella and Agustín Alessio (Argentina)
The Red Mantle by Jefferson Costa (Brazil)
Chariot of the Gods by Dr. Ejob Gaius, E.N. Ejob, and Coeurtys Minko (Cameroon)
If Nihilism Is the Answer, What Was the Question? by Štěpán Kopřiva and Michal Suchánek (Czech and Slovak Republics)
Superman in Paris by Sylvain Runberg, Marcial Toledano Vargas, and José Manuel Robledo (France)
Man of Kruppstahl by Flix (Felix Görmann) (Germany)
To Be a Hero by Rana Daggubati and Sid Kotian (India)

Superman: The Left of the Hummingbird by Bef (Bernardo Fernández) (Mexico)
Marzanna by Bartosz Sztybor and Marek Oleksicki (Poland)
