Ms. Marvel has returned to Jersey City, but her relationship with her hometown may never be the same.
During the FALL OF X, Kamala Khan revealed herself to the world as a mutant hero. Now, in MS. MARVEL: MUTANT MENACE (2024) #1 by Iman Vellani, Sabir Pirzada, and Scott Godlewski, she will start to realize what that means to her community—and she might not like what she sees. After years of protecting Jersey City as its hometown hero, Ms. Marvel will have to learn how to navigate her new mutant identity as a member of the X-Men under the scrutiny of her beloved hometown.
A special first look at MS. MARVEL: MUTANT MENACE (2024) #1 shows Kamala standing strong on the streets of Jersey City, while smoke pours out of her embiggened hands. In one page, she looks disheartened in a large, puffy jacket that hides her X-Men uniform while the citizens of Jersey City debate her intentions and form a Mutant Watch group.
In another page, Kamala joins the X-Men underground, where Wolverine whips up breakfast for himself, Deadpool, Rogue, Psylocke, and Monet, only for Psylocke to point out that Kamala has been logged on a Mutant Watch website. Then, Kamala serves food alongside her family at a community dinner. Finally, she faces off against Hordeculture, a group of bio-terrorists who have a fraught history with mutantkind.
