https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2024-01/DC/justice-gang.png

There were also plans for the Justice Society Of America to be reformed, as well as a new Legion Of Super Heroes series spinning out of Geoff Johns and Mikel Janin's JSA 12-issue series, but John's decision to go exclusive with Ghost Machine at Image Comics changed those plans at DC.

Mark Waid me semble idéal pour cela.

WTF??

DC Comics Have Told Marvel That They Own Machine Man

https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dc-comics-have-told-marvel-that-they-own-machine-man/

DC Comics has now informed Marvel that they believe that they own Machine Man, and future publication may entail some elaboration manoeuvers in the copyright indicia on Marvel's part in order to comply with various copyright and trademark requirements. And also DC Comics might just reprint the 2001 adaptation by Jack Kirby if they feel so minded…

Jack Kirby wrote and pencilled both the adaptation of 2001: A Space Odyssey and the ten-issue series which followed in 1976, and the project was part of the agreement of Kirby's return to Marvel, after working for DC Comics in the Fourth World titles. Kirby incorporated additional dialogue to the adaptation from the Arthur C Clarke novel and an earlier draft of the screenplay.

In issue #8, Kirby introduces Mister Machine, the robot X-51. who gains sentience and thanks to an encounter with a Monolith, takes the name Aaron Stack and tries to hide amongst humanity. When 2001: A Space Odyssey would soon come to an end, but the character was given his own series shortly after, reportedly renamed Machine Man due to a naming conflict with an Ideal Toys robot named Mr. Machine. Subsequently and the character would then appear in the likes of Thor, Iron Man, Machine Man 2020, Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E, NextWAVE and the Iron Man 2020 event.

The excitement begins on April 9 with Action Comics #1064, written by Joshua Williamson with art by Rafa Sandoval. This next part of DC’s Superman Superstars publishing initiative finds Brainiac’s Czarnian army invading Metropolis in this action-packed, oversize (40 pages) issue! The Super-Family and all the superheroes of Metropolis join the fight, but will they be enough to hold off Brainiac’s lethal and crazed soldiers?! Can Superman and Lex Luthor learn what Brainiac is searching for? He’s not bottling Metropolis, so what is he collecting instead? This blockbuster issue features a main cover by artist Sandoval, with variant covers by Batman artist Jorge Jiménez, Paolo Rivera, Michael Walsh, and Ariel Colón.

Also on sale April 9, the House of Brainiac saga continues with Green Lantern #10. DC art legend Kevin Maguire joins series writer Jeremy Adams for a three-part backup story, “Guy’s Bogus Lobo Adventure.” This creative combination means guaranteed hilarity and Maguire’s trademark facial expressions galore, as Green Lantern Guy Gardner is on the hunt to find and arrest Lobo, who’s rumored to be competing against some of the toughest wrestlers the universe has to offer! Green Lantern #10 features a main cover by Xermánico, with variant covers by Evan “Doc” Shaner, Jorge Fornés, and Michael Walsh.

Williamson and Sandoval continue the action on April 16 in Superman #13. Superman and Lobo travel across the universe on a hunt for the “Lobo Army” and Brainiac. But can the pair get along long enough to find them before Brainiac enacts the next stage of his dangerous plan? Sandoval also provides the main cover for this issue, which connects with the main cover of Action Comics #1064 to create a massive display of Metropolis’s superheroes from the Superman Family squaring off against Brainiac’s Czarnian forces. Lee Bermejo, Sebastian Fiumara, Alan Quah, and Jerry Gaylord provide variant covers, plus an artist spotlight variant cover by fan-favorite artist and DC president, publisher, and chief creative officer Jim Lee.

On April 23, writer Leah Williams and artists Eduardo Pansica and Júlio Ferreira continue the action in Power Girl #8. After an unexpected attack by Brainiac and his forces, everyone with superpowers in Metropolis has been kidnapped or imprisoned, leaving Power Girl the only superhero to protect a city full of helpless civilians. Will she be up for the challenge, and will the arrival of Crush, Lobo’s daughter, make things even tougher? Wonder Woman: Earth One artist Yanick Paquette provides the main cover, with variant covers from Mark Brooks, W. Scott Forbes, and Irvin Rodriguez.

The first month of “House of Brainiac” concludes on April 30 with Superman: House of Brainiac Special #1. Award-winning writer Mark Russell joins Joshua Williamson as co-writer, with breakout artist Edwin Galmon teaming up with Steve Pugh (Peacemaker Tries Hard!) on art. Featuring cover art by Superman artist Jamal Campbell, this essential part of the Action Comics/Superman crossover reveals Brainiac’s secret history with both Lobo and his homeworld, Czarnia, answering several important questions, including how Brainiac created a bottled city full of Czarnians, Lois Lane confronting Perry White about his own secrets during his campaign for mayor of Metropolis, how Amanda Waller is part of all this, and more! And amidst all the chaos of a Metropolis in need of new champions, Bibbo Bibbowski, Metropolis’s favorite bartender, organizes the locals to protect the city they call home!

Superman and Lobo’s battle against Brainiac has got them battling across the galaxy, so The Man of Steel needs help from his fellow Kryptonian super heroes as parts three and four of DC’s “House of Brainiac” continue this May!

On May 14, the House of El takes up the struggle against Brainiac himself in Action Comics #1065. With Supes and “The Main Man” taking on Brainiac’s Czarnian army, it’s up to Supergirl and Connor Kent to stop Brainiac himself! It’s an impossible battle, but will the intervention by some unexpected (and deadly) allies make things better, or worse? Find out in this issue, written by Joshua Williamson, with art by Rafa Sandoval. Action Comics #1065 also features a main cover by Sandoval, variant covers by Jorge Jiménez, Paolo Rivera, Ivan Talavera and Mark Spears, and a Brainiac family back-up story drawn by Mirko Colak (Spawn).

It takes a lot to anger Superman in even the direst of situations, so when Lobo betrays him, a partnership that’s shaky at best turns into a full-scale brawl that’s guaranteed to rattle entire planets! Even if they can stop punching each other long enough to save the day, it might be too late, because Brainiac has what he needs, and the Brainiac Queen is alive! On sale May 21, Joshua Williamson also writes Superman #14, with art and main cover by Rafa Sandoval. Variant covers are provided by Salvador Larroca, Dave Johnson, Carla Cohen and Chuma Hill.

On May 28, Power Girl comes out to play in Power Girl #9, a “House of Brainiac” tie-in issue. With the Czarnians seizing control of Power Girl’s Metropolis neighborhood, Crush offers herself up as a diplomat to reason with her unreasonable relatives. But these aliens are as corrupt as they are crude and decide they’ll just add Crush their growing number of hostages. Can Power Girl save the day solo, or will she fall prey to Goblin and intergalactic biker gang? Find out in this issue. Written by Leah Williams with art by Eduardo Pansica and Julio Ferreira, with a main cover by Yanick Paquette, plus variant covers by Tony S. Daniel and David Talaski.

As a new Ice Age dawns, humanity faces their most deadly threat yet—Barbara Gordon Queen of the Vampires!

At New York Comic Con, DC announced the return of its ELSEWORLDS line of comics, revealing upcoming comic book titles Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age, Batman the Barbarian, Green Lantern: Dark, with more to come. Scheduled to publish in 2024, DC’s new ELSEWORLDS lineup will also include sequels to best-selling series Dark Knights of Steel and DC vs. Vampires.

DC’s original ELSEWORLDS line was established in 1991, with the release of Batman: Holy Terror, by Alan Brennert and Norm Breyfogle. For the next two decades, ELSEWORLDS became the host for new and innovative stories featuring DC Super Heroes in settings outside regular DC comic book continuity. This new direction produced enduring and iconic stories, such as Kingdom Comeby Mark Waid and Alex Ross, Batman & Dracula: Red Rain, by Doug Moench and Kelley Jones, Superman: Red Sonby Mark Millar, Dave Johnson and Killian Plunkett, Justice League: The Nail, by Alan Davis, and more.

“Out-of-continuity stories have always been a pillar of DC publishing, granting creators the ability to explore all the wild corners of the DC Universe,” said DC Executive Editor Ben Abernathy. “We’re excited to bring a whole new slate of titles under the ELSEWORLDS banner in 2024, combining some all-new titles from top storytellers, as well as sequels from the current DC line that fit that same out-of-continuity aesthetic.”

DC’s new ELSEWORLDS lineup will include:

Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age — A 12 Issue Series by Andy Diggle and Leandro Fernandez

Gotham by Gaslight: The KryptonianAge by Andy Diggle and Leandro Fernandez expands the mysterious and gothic world created by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola beyond the confines of Gotham City, introducing DC’s greatest heroes as they come together for the first time to form a 19th-century Justice League.

DC also announced DC Finest, a new line of comprehensive collections of the most in-demand periods, genres, and characters from across DC history. Scheduled to launch in November, these affordably priced, large-size paperback collections start at $34.99, and will take full advantage of DC’s extensive backlist and appeal to casual and completist fans alike. Focusing on characters and storytelling genres instead of creators or prior series will give casual fans the chance to discover full continuities for their favorite characters, while offering completist readers an affordable option to build out their ultimate collection of stories based on their favorite DC Super Hero or genre.

Character-focused collections will spotlight multiple iterations of fan-favorite DC Super Heroes throughout the decades; for example, a “Robin” collection may include volumes featuring Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, or Jason Todd, depending on chronology, while a “Green Lantern” collection may include classic stories featuring Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Alan Scott, or other fan-favorite ring slingers. Genre fans can curate collections of their favorite tales from specific genres, which may include of science fiction, romance, war, westerns, horror, and other genres; many of these volumes will feature material reprinted for the first time, by some of comics’ greatest storytellers.

The first wave of DC Finest collections include:

DC Finest – The Flash: The Human Thunderbolt: Collects classic adventures of Barry Allen, the Silver Age Flash, by John Broome and Carmine Infantino, including 1956’s iconic Showcase #4. Also includes Silver Age Flash stories that include the first appearances of famous Flash rogues, including Captain Cold, Mirror Master, and Gorilla Grodd.

DC Finest – Batman: Year One & Two: Collects the Dark Knight’s adventures following the game-changing crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, including Batman: Year One by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli and Batman: Year Two by Mike W. Barr and Todd McFarlane, plus more mid-to-late-’80s Batman stories from Barr, Max Allan Collins, Norm Breyfogle, and others.

DC Finest – Wonder Woman: Origins & Omens: This collection spotlights fan-favorite writer Gail Simone’s run on Wonder Woman, starting with 2007’s “The Circle,” with artist Terry Dodson, plus celebrated story arcs “Ends of the Earth,” “Rise of the Olympian,” and “Warkiller,” featuring art by Aaron Lopresti.

DC Finest – Catwoman: Life Lines: Selina Kyle steps out of Batman’s shadow and becomes a protagonist in her own right in this collection featuring Catwoman’s 1989 solo debut by Mindy Newell and J.J. Birch, Peter Milligan and Tom Grindberg’s Catwoman Defiant from 1992, and the first year of DC’s Catwoman ongoing series, by writer Jo Duffy and artist Jim Balent.

DC Finest – Superman: The Coming of Superman: Features the Man of Steel’s earliest and most iconic adventures, starting with Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster’s groundbreaking Action Comics #1. This collection includes Action Comics #1-25, Superman #1-5, and New York World’s Fair Comics #1.

Source Bleeding Cool (https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dc-comics-announces-25-absolute-power-comics-all-written-by-mark-waid/)

:ouin:

We are back for our last run. Nightwing: Fallen Grayson (before you ask, yes, I’m doing interiors on this arc :)

It began with the leap. It ends with the fall.
Bruno Redondo, Adriano Lucas, Wes Abbott and my Eisner award-winning run on Nightwing ends with the 5 part 'Fallen Grayson' in May.
Final order cutoff is the 24th of April.
Don't miss this.

My next DC project is aesthetically closer to the way Swampy read / felt. Delving more into the metaphysical and cosmic side of DC.

Faites vos jeux.
