Meet Clark Kent, a young reporter who just learned that the world will soon come to an end (Crisis on Infinite Earths) and there is nothing he can do to save it. Sounds like a job for his alter ego…Superman! Superman: Space Age from critically acclaimed writer Mark Russell (One-Star Squadron and The Flintstones) and Eisner-winner artist Mike Allred (Silver Surfer and Bowie: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams) will be available in comic shops on July 26, 2022.
“This is a dream project for me,” said Mark Russell. “Not only because I get to work with a genius like Mike Allred, but because I’ve always found Superman such a philosophically fascinating character, one which forces us to ask how different would the world be if we chose to be our best selves?”
After years of standing idle, the young man from Krypton defies the wishes of his fathers to come out to the world as the first superhero of the Space Age. As each decade passes and each new danger emerges, he wonders if this is the one that will kill him and everyone he loves. Superman realizes that even good intentions are not without their backlash as the world around him transforms into a place as determined to destroy itself as he is to save it.
“SUPER pumped to finally reveal what we’ve been working on in secret for so long,” said Mike Allred. “Easily my biggest project for DC yet. Working with Mark Russel and his brilliant script has been a blast! Packed with head-spinning iconography, top tier characters, twists, thrills, and chills, resulting in a powerful instant classic epic! It’s been simultaneously intimidating and inspiring to meet the challenge of illustrating this phenomenal project!
Uniting the critically acclaimed writer Mark Russell and Eisner-winner Mike Allred for the first time, this series promises fans an unforgettable journey through U.S. history and culture starring our beloved characters.
The first of three issues will be available at local comic book stores on July 26, with a new issue coming out every two months. SUPERMAN: SPACE AGE #1 features a main cover by Mike Allred, open to order variant cover by Steve Rude, a 1:25 variant cover by Nick Derington and a 1:50 variant cover by Mike Allred.

DARK CRISIS: WORLDS WITHOUT A JUSTICE LEAGUE - SUPERMAN #1
Tom King and Chris Burnham Pay Tribute to the Fallen Man of Steel
Brandon Thomas, Chuck Brown and Fico Ossio Honor the King of Atlantis
Pariah. The Great Darkness. A World of Dreams. Hope.
Following the tragic events in Justice League #75 by Joshua Williamson and Rafa Sandoval (on sale April 26), Tom King (Human Target) and Chris Burnham (Batman Incorporated) are teaming up for the first time ever for a tribute to the Man of Steel in Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League - Superman #1. Brandon Thomas (Aquamen), Chuck Brown (Black Manta) and Fico Ossio (Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom) will also honor Aquaman’s legacy in a backup story in the issue. Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League - Superman #1 will be available at comic book shops and digital retailers on July 12.
"Superman is maybe my favorite character to write, and Chris is one of my favorite artists in comics, whom I've been dying to work with for years, so this project is an absolute joy,” said Writer Tom King. “It's an important and emotional story about what Clark missed when he missed Jon's teenage years, the pain and the glory of seeing your boy grow up."
When Pariah and his forces of the Great Darkness laid waste to the most powerful superheroes of all time, all hope was lost…with the Man of Steel suffering the same fate as that of his comrades, join us for a look at a world of dreams he would never have thought possible while alive. Where there’s life there’s hope, and with that hope comes a deeper unraveling of the tapestry of DC Universe’s biggest event of 2022!
“I’ve been a fan of Tom since his days on Grayson, so although he’s probably better known for his 12-issue ‘war-is-hell’ epics, I still primarily think of him as writing fun formalist done-in-ones,” said Artist Chris Burnham. “I’ve got two young boys who haven’t quite figured out what a knucklehead their old man is, so it’s fantastic to be drawing a story about Superman trying to live up to the high standards of his own father. I loved drawing the adventures of Batman and Robin in Batman Incorporated, and it’s been extra fun to draw Superman with a Robin-esque Superboy”
Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League - Superman #1 will be available on July 12 with art and a main cover by Chris Burnham, as well as a 1:25 variant cover by Steve Beach and a 1:50 foil variant of the main cover.

La discussion qui fait plaisir sur Twitter :
I keep having conversations with comic creators who're so excited about what @DCComics is building. The kindness and enthusiasm for making great stories coming out of every single editor at DC is wildly infectious and creators are responding.
100 percent this. And @AshcanPress and I have had this exact chat. It’s a golden time, creatively, at @DCComics and I can’t say enough good things about the editors right now. The best people to make heroic stories with.
Ca annonce encore du bon pour la suite!

En effet, Gotham City a changé de façon mystérieuse.
The story starts with “Gotham Nocturne” part 1 of 4: “Overture.” Something is terribly wrong with Batman. No matter the tests Bruce takes, nor the numbers he counts, the greatest detective in the world can’t pin down the source of this creeping dread—of his own inner demons and a looming mortality. He’s not alone in the grips of this terror, as it seems real demons are creeping through the shadows of Gotham City, answering the clarion call of a strange melody that’s haunting Gotham…and seems to be turning its denizens into something else.
Chaque numéro contiendra une back-up par Si Spurrier et Dani avec l'enquête côté Gordon.
Evan Cagle dessine chaque couverture quand Lee Bermejo, J.H.

DREAMER HAS ENTERED THE CHAT
Nia Nal a.k.a. Dreamer Makes Her DC Universe Debut in Superman: Son of Kal-El #13
Co-Written by Tom Taylor and Nicole Maines With Artwork by Clayton Henry; Available July 12
After making her debut on CW’s Supergirl, actress Nicole Maines is bringing the character of Nia Nal, and her superhero alter-ego Dreamer, to the pages of Superman: Son of Kal-El. Maines will be co-writing Superman: Son of Kal-El #13 with series writer Tom Taylor.
"I'm so excited to work with Nicole Maines to bring Dreamer from the screen to the pages of Superman: Son of Kal-El and to the DC Comics Universe,” said Tom Taylor. “I want to thank all the people at DC who have championed Dreamer and who recognize the importance of this powerful trans superhero in this time."
“Jon Kent and Nia Nal are two characters that have a lot in common, both as superheroes with the weight of the world on their shoulders, and as young people with impossibly big shoes to fill,” said Nicole Maines. “Weaving their stories together for Superman: Son of Kal-El with Tom was a complete pleasure, and there is only a little pun intended when I say that Superman and Dreamer make for a brilliant new Dream-Team.”
It’s the dramatic DC Universe debut of Dreamer! When every hero on Earth is threatened by Henry Bendix’s machinations, it’s a race against time for Dreamer to warn Superman before it happens! But will this mysterious new ally’s premonition become a nightmare for Jonathan Kent?
Superman: Son of Kal-El #13 will be available at local comic shops on July 12, 2022. The issue will feature a main cover by Travis Moore and a 1:25 variant cover by Clayton Henry. Making his DC debut is A.L. Kaplan, who created an open variant featuring Dreamer on the back of Jon Kent.

With things heating up in Neo-Gotham, Jason Todd revisits his post-Robin past to find the one ally he believes will help him turn the tide in the battle against Derek Powers. The first of two issues, co-written by Sean Murphy and Clay McCormack (Bloody Hel) with art by Simone Di Meo (Future State: Harley Quinn) and colors by Dave Stewart (Batman), will be available at local comic shops on July 26.
“People have been asking me for years about Jason Todd in the White Knight universe,” said Sean Murphy. “We are trying to reinvent Jason into the Beyond timeline, while also honoring what made him so compelling for readers in the first place. In Batman: White Knight Presents: Red Hood, there's definitely a grudge between Jason and Grayson and Batman's two oldest sons will have to find ways to put their differences behind them in order to save Bruce."
"It's a thrill for me to help shape the White Knight universe alongside two masters like Sean and Simone,” said Clay McCormack. “Jason's road is very rough, no matter the universe, and we definitely put him through the ringer here. He's a hot head with a Batman-sized chip on his shoulder, so giving him an apprentice who has a much sunnier outlook on Batman creates a frustrating contrast for Jason, and plenty of fun for the reader."
“Bruce Wayne is Batman.” Four words that saved Jason’s life and destroyed his future forever. Banished by his mentor and damaged by The Joker, the former Robin is left to become something different, something stronger, a relentless force for justice in the city…Red Hood! With nobody to answer to, he walks the dangerous line between hero and villain. That is until he meets Gan, a local girl from East Backport who needs his help to save her neighborhood from a super-criminal terrorizing its citizens. And she’s willing to fight alongside him, whatever it takes!
“Working with Sean and Clay is really inspiring, and working with two professionals like them can only help to improve my work,” said Simone Di Meo. “Creating a new Robin is something really exciting to work on, the emotionality of making choices and the relationship with Jason. I can't wait for fans to be able to see it.”
Batman: White Knight Presents: Red Hood #1 will be available at local comic shops on July 26. The first of two issues features a main cover by Sean Murphy, an open to order and 1:50 gold foil variant by Oliver Coipel and a 1:25 variant by Simone Di Meo.

DC CELEBRATES GEORGE PÉREZ’S BIRTHDAY FOR ALL OF JUNE
All June Comics Will Feature A Double Page Spread in Honor of the Legendary Artist’s 68th Birthday on June 9
Alex Ross, Dan Jurgens, José Luis García-López, Jim Lee, Nicola Scott, Phil Jimenez, Todd McFarlane, Walter Simonson, and Many More Honor Pérez
DC will celebrate the 68th birthday of George Pérez, one of the titans of the comic industry, with a two-page spread featuring some of his most beloved characters in each of its June periodical releases. Working from a layout designed by Dan Jurgens, some of the industry’s biggest names including Jim Lee, Walter Simonson, Alex Ross, Dave Gibbons, Todd McFarlane, Daniel Sampere, Jerry Ordway, Nicola Scott and many more, collaborated on the colorful spread.
“When I was asked to come up with a design and layout that would honor George Pérez and his many incredible contributions to DC Comics over the years, I was truly honored,” said Dan Jurgens. “I have admired George’s work since I first saw it and have had the good fortune to work with him in different capacities, on a number of projects. More importantly, I’ve been able to see the way George treats fans and readers, always smiling, gregarious and approachable. It was a joy to watch this cover come together and I’m sure everyone who contributed feels the same way.”
The tribute features the following DC characters that Pérez is most known for, as well as the man himself, drawn by a number of the top artists in the industry and colored by Hi-Fi:
The Monitor & Anti-Monitor - Jim Lee & Scott Williams
Trigon - Todd McFarlane
The Spectre - Alex Ross
Darkseid - Walter Simonson
Firestorm & The Justice League Satellite - Scott Kolins
Ares & Hippolyta - Phil Jimenez
Cheetah & The Amazons - Colleen Doran
Lady H.I.V.E. & H.I.V.E. Agents - Scott Koblish
Vigilante - Dave Gibbons
Cheshire - Joëlle Jones
Brother Blood - Darryl Banks
Blackfire - Mike McKone
Gizmo & Mammoth - Klaus Janson
Shimmer - Bruno Redondo
Psimon - Mikel Janín
Neutron & Jinx - Dan Mora
The Legion of Super-Heroes - Francis Manapul
The Justice Society of America - Jerry Ordway
Power Girl & Huntress - Kevin Maguire
The Justice League of America (and the background) - Dan Jurgens & Norm Rapmund
Superboy-Prime & Alexander Luthor - Ivan Reis
Supergirl - Gary Frank
Harbinger - Adam Hughes
Pariah - Daniel Sampere
Jericho & Kole - Nicola Scott
The New Teen Titans, Deathstroke & George Pérez - José Luis García-López
Accompanying the spread on a separate page will be a key highlighting the characters and artists that participated.
In addition to being included in all of DC’s June issues, the tribute will also be featured as a variant cover for Dark Crisis #7. Each issue of the event series will feature a cover highlighting a previous crisis event from DC’s history, starting with the genre defining Crisis on Infinite Earths by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez for issue #1. Artwork and additional details on each of the covers will be announced at a later date.
"George Pérez is one of my favorite comic storytellers of all time. To say he’s a ‘great artist’ is a massive understatement,” said Dark Crisis Writer Joshua Williamson. “His work on the original Crisis of Infinite Earths inspired so much of my love for DC Comics. When I saw DC editors pull together this incredible piece with so many amazing legendary artists celebrating George, I won't lie, it was emotional. And now it's an honor to have this tribute be a cover to Dark Crisis."
A special version of the Dark Crisis #7 variant cover will be available for sale by The Hero Initiative to raise funds for one of Pérez’s favorite charities. Pérez is a founding member of Hero Initiative’s board of directors and has served as chair of its Disbursement Committee.

La rumeur Bleeding Cool du jour pour la la JSA de Geoff Johns :
Bleeding Cool understands that the Justice Society Of America will be appearing in future issues of Flashpoint Beyond written by Geoff Johns. And that Stargirl will be getting a six-issue limited series which will include the JSA. And the new JSA team will include Huntress, even though she exists in another current form in the DC Universe. Maybe Dark Crisis or Flashpoint Beyond will be able to sort that one out?
We presume Geoff Johns will be writing, and understand that the artistic creative team are still at the design stage. But it's happening, either at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. Honest this time. Cross fingers.
