This being a Daniel Warren Johnson comic, this isn't your average taking on the pro wrestling scene. Publisher Image Comics bills Do a Powerbomb as "The Wrestler meets Dragon Ball Z," and we can understand why. The series focuses on Luna Steelrose, an aspiring wrestler struggling to escape her mother's shadow in the arena. She may just get the opportunity when a necromancer invites her to take part in the mother of all wrestling tournaments.

"Ever since I started writing and drawing comics, I've wanted to make stories that get me EXCITED. I mean, like, REALLY PUMPED UP," Johnson tells IGN. "And it's no different here with DO A POWERBOMB, where I've tried to channel my passion and love for pro-wrestling into a 2D space, to try and share it with my readers as best I can, and maybe get them excited about it too. And honestly, what's a better way to make something new than to combine two things I love so much? I hope you all join me on this ride. I'm so proud of it!"

Do a Powerbomb is a seven-issue limited series that launches on June 15, 2022.

Fan-favorite cartoonist Daniel Warren Johnson (Murder Falcon, Wonder Woman: Dead Earth) will bring readers an all-new, action-packed tale in the upcoming, Do a Powerbomb. This seven issue miniseries is set to launch this June from Image Comics.

Do a Powerbomb follows Lona Steelrose who wants to be a pro wrestler, but lives in the shadow of her mother’s success before her. But everything changes when a wrestling-obsessed necromancer asks Lona to join the grandest—and the most dangerous—pro wrestling tournament of all time!

Do a Powerbomb #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, June 15:

Ça fait un moment que DWJ publiait des dessins de catchs... et j'espérais secrètement que ça prépare une annonce. Et là, BAM ! Il revient en indé, avec un projet qui sonne tellement DWJ ! J'en serai, évidemment ! Et j'ai tellement hâte :D


Si faire une histoire chez DC, une chez Marvel, et une en indé, peut lui permettre de vivre de sa passion en s'éclatant, c'est tout aussi bien pour nous !!!!
