Pas forcément il y a le qualificatif mad dans l'article. Il est déjà un peu dérangé à la base (avec ses idées de grandeur puis son complexe victimisant sans oublier sa fixette sur Lady Quark).
Là, il veut ramener sa Terre (et sa famille).

Le gars était cané (il a même été Black Lantern). Il est revenu à la vie comme beaucoup suite à Death Metal (vu qu'il est aperçu dans Infinite Frontier à la fin déjà manipulateur). A voir l'impact que ça a eu sur lui.

(au passage je continue de dire que c'est une putain d'idée ratée que de ne pas plus creuser plus que cela le retour à la vie d'un paquet de personnages par la grâce d'un reset cosmique avec le lots de thérapies qui pourrait s'en suivre, un peu comme Heroes In Crisis mais avec une vraie thématique)

Le nouveau scénariste de Batman est Chip Zdarsky avec toujours Jorge Jimenez en artiste principal. Ils débutent en juillet avec Batman #125 par un arc en 6 épisodes intitulé Failsafe :

According to Zdarsky, the "Failsafe" arc will follow Bruce Wayne as he is having nightmares of a future he can't stop. There's a chance he might not make it to that future, as a startling enemy from Batman's past has one relentless goal: to end Batman, no matter what it takes. While Zdarsky won't reveal whether that "startling enemy" is a new or established character, the threat the arc poses will put Bruce to the test.

"When DC approached me to write Batman, I immediately thought about things that could really challenge the character mentally, physically, and in terms of his relationships," Zdarsky told ComicBook.com via email. "Failsafe is his Doomsday. When I started mapping out the story I got really excited about where it could take the title."

"He's a superstar!" Zdarsky said of working with Jiménez. "Not just as an artist, but as a person! He's really delightful and excited about the character and the direction we're going in, which is great. We talked about going darker with the book and he's been all aboard, with some really stunning pages that showcase the tone. I honestly can't say enough good things about Jorge. He creates beauty at an amazing speed. I'm angry that he's also so handsome as it's just not fair. The only good thing about the pandemic is that I probably won't have to be on a panel next to him which would only serve to highlight how old and gross I look."

As the covers for Batman #125 — including a main wraparound cover from Jiménez — reveal, the Tim Drake version of Robin will be factoring into the "challenge" that "Failsafe" poses.

"The past few years have had a lot of Batman on his own, with so many (SO MANY) Robins, etc. in his orbit," Zdarsky explained. "But I wanted to really highlight the "Batman & Robin" aspect of the characters while still maintaining the darker feel we're going for. Tim Drake is a favourite of mine and being able to highlight him here has been a lot of fun."

Zdarsky will be the latest writer for Batman since the start of the DC Rebirth reboot, following lengthy runs from Tom King and James Tynion IV, as well as the current arc penned by Joshua Williamson. While we'll have to wait and see Zdarsky's long-term plans for the title, he did tease that "we're just getting started."

"Really, I'm just writing the Batman book that I want to read," Zdarsky added. "A dark book with wild action, huge stakes, and hopefully a lot of fun. My main Batman reader that I care about is my brother! He's followed the book for a long time and I really just want to make him happy for once in my life!!!"

DC Mech draws inspiration from a number of Japanese mecha classics like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Robotech. The series is set in an alternate version of the DCU where humanity has built a fleet of giant robots in response to a WWII-era alien incursion from Apokolips. They know it's only a matter of time before Darkseid returns with a full invasion force, and with Superman's advanced Kryptonian mech leading the charge, they're ready to finish the fight.

"DC Mech is inspired by my deep love of the DC Universe and the mecha genre," Porter tells IGN. "I grew up reading DC Comics and watching any anime that I could get my hands on that featured giant robots. I’ve been a fan of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise since middle school, and I wanted to create a world with Baldemar that completely restructured the world around augmented pilots instead of superheroes."

Porter continues, "DC Comics and iconic series like Mobile Suit Gundam, Robotech, and Neon Genesis Evangelion all have these amazing stories, characters, and designs that work surprisingly well together. I wanted to write a story that got both the DC fan and the mecha fan in me excited, and I assure you, I went all out with both aspects."

"I was approached with a wild idea by writer Kenny Porter and editor Dave Wieglosz," says Rivas. "We got to work coming up with ideas immediately for DC Mech. We all wanted to write a love letter to the genre of Mecha anime and what we wanted to see, while fusing it with the DC Universe. I wanted to really immerse myself in the world and set each design apart with unique qualities. This is the most fulfilling creative project I’ve worked on yet and I am so excited to share it with DC and mech fans alike."

As for the challenge of redesigning DC's heroes for this new mecha universe, Rivas says it's about function as much as form.

"I put a lot of research into the functionality of each unique mech, how they enhance their specific pilot’s strengths and finding design elements that say something about each character as well. With the Bat Man mech for example, I wanted to design a sleek and dark mech with stealth capabilities while still including a wide range of gadgets which relate to human Batman’s famous tools and fighting skills. I want these mechs to feel at home in the DC Universe and introduce something new and exciting, but familiar."

The one thing that readers can expect from this story is that it’s a whole new version of the DC Universe," teases Porter. "We aren’t holding anything back and we’re bringing fun new elements for long-time fans and new readers alike. You’re going to see beloved characters take on new roles and experience completely different relationships based on the trajectory this universe took. And I can’t wait for people to read it.

DC Mech #1 is slated to hit comic shops and digital storefronts on July 26, 2022.
