(https://bleedingcool.com/comics/dc-comics-qa-on-quitting-diamond-after-25-years-exclusivity/)
Why is DC doing this now?
DC has been analyzing its Direct Market distribution for some time, long before COVID, specifically in light of sustained stagnant market growth. The timing of the decision to move on from Diamond was ultimately dictated by the fact that DC's contract with Diamond has expired, but incidentally, the disruption by COVID to the market has required DC to forge ahead with its larger growth strategies that will benefit both the Direct Market and DC.
How do I order my books next week?
Retailers will need to contact Lunar Distribution, UCS Comic Distributors, or Penguin Random House to receive books with on sale dates beginning 06/30/20 and forward.
What about the books I've already ordered through Diamond's ordering system? Will I still get those?
Retailers who have already ordered titles with a 5/18, 5/25, or 6/1 FOC date should still expect to receive their books through Diamond. Titles with an FOC date of 6/8 are being moved to 6/15, and all DC titles with FOC dates of 6/15, 6/22, and 6/29 (and beyond) will need to be ordered through one of the three distributors listed above.
I have books to return — where do I send them?
All DC periodicals and graphic novels that were sold to comic book specialty store customers with in-store dates between 4/28/20 – 6/24/20 are returnable to the distributor from which they were ordered. Each of these titles shall become eligible for return during the 30-day window of time specified here, and such titles must be bundled together in shipments as follows. Titles returned after the applicable 30-day window shall not be accepted.
Return titles with in-store dates of 4/28, 5/5, & 5/12 should be sent in together beginning 6/26 and received no later than 7/26;
Return titles with in-store dates of 5/19 & 5/26 should be sent in together beginning 7/10 and received no later than 8/9;
Return titles with in-store dates of 6/2 & 6/9 should be sent in together beginning 7/24 and received no later than 8/23;
Return titles with in-store dates of 6/16 & 6/23 should be sent in together beginning 7/23 and received no later than 8/22.
Distributors will provide electronic return authorization labels to cover returns shipping costs.
Customers will receive full credit from the applicable distributor for the return of the titles. U.S. customers must return full copies in salable condition to the distributor from which they were ordered. DC will accept affidavit returns from customers located outside the continental United States. All returns must be accompanied by a Return Authorization Form from your applicable distributor. DC shall have the right to audit such returns as DC deems necessary.
Which distributor should I use?
Retailers may choose from these three distributors as they like, but we suggest that U.S. and Canadian retailers on the west coast choose Lunar Distribution and those on the east coast choose UCS Comic Distributors to maximize shipping timelines. For retailers outside North America, please choose any of the three distributors.
How does this impact my discount structure?
Your current discount plateau will remain the same with Lunar and UCS. This discount structure is based on the volume of your purchases.
What about my credit terms?
Credit terms are set with your distributor.
Why is DC committed to having books on sale on Tuesdays, instead of Wednesday?
DC is committed to Tuesday on sale dates so that all our product is offered on the same day in all retail channels.

Dear customer,
Today we received news that DC is ending their relationship with Diamond Comics completely. Which is obviously a huge thing to happen in the comics industry.
But if you're a customer with us, you needn't worry, we'll still be able to obtain all printed comics and graphic novels that will be published by DC Comics since we already have the necessary accounts with DC's preferred new distributors. So we are already working hard to make that transition happen!
Stay tuned for more updates!
Réactions de retailers :
"As most retailers, I’m not going to cut off my nose to spite my face, I’ll order for my regulars, the minimum for racks, but [I’m] not putting any significant resources in their future projects."
"So I say this as a lifelong DC Comics fan as well as a retailer — screw you, DC Comics. I wish them every bit as well as Marvel did when they did this back in the '90s. Whoever is calling the shots at DC, if there is anyone, should be sacked immediately."
https://www.gamesradar.com/comic-book-retailers-unite-in-shock-and-anger-over-dc-split-with-diamond/
"DC is definitely still a Diamond Premier Publisher. Our Previews catalogue will be going through a lot of changes, but they'll still be there. They're [DC] no longer exclusive, so we may eventually differentiate 'Premier' publishers who are exclusive and 'Premier' publishers who are not. Keep in mind though, with Previews DC and Marvel years ago broke out of the main catalogue with their own separate catalogues."

Superman #25
https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2020-06/DC/SUP25_CVR_NEW.jpg.webp
A colossal new threat to Superman, the planet Earth, and the DC Universe arrives on the scene in this extra-sized anniversary issue! This unique warrior called the Synmar was created to represent an entire alien race. He’s trained his entire life—but for what purpose? As the antithesis of everything Superman stands for, Synmar launches his aggression toward Earth—to destroy the Man of Steel and every being on the planet! This is what Superman was born to protect us from!
“I can’t wait for fans to check out this issue,” said writer Brian Michael Bendis. “Ivan Reis returns for this issue and this is some of his best work I’ve seen yet. Along with that, we’re introducing a new surprise or two and a new threat, Synamar.”
“Synamar comes from a part of the galaxy so alien and so remote that his connection to Superman would seem impossible at first.” “But it’s very real and bad news for the planet Earth. “Synmar is something superman has never faced before;” it’ll take all the experience and lessons Superman’s learned throughout his entire life to stop Synamar from destroying everything he’s sworn to protect.”

3 chouettes one-shots liés à Dark Nights: Death Metal à venir en septembre :
Dark Nights: Death Metal: Trinity Crisis #1, written by Scott Snyder with art and cover by Francis Manapul, hits shelves 9/8.
https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2020-06/DC/trinity.jpg
With Superman freed from his New Apokolips prison, the classic Trinity lineup is back together and ready to rock their next gig. Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman amp up their power to launch an assault on Castle Bat, and that’s just the warm-up act! Three walking nightmares are hidden deep inside the fortress—but these Dark Multiverse versions of the Anti-Monitor, Superboy Prime, and Darkseid hold the key to humanity's survival. The Justice League have to face down their old nemeses, but will round two be the end for our heroes?
Dark Nights: Death Metal: Speed Metal #1, written by Joshua Williamson with art by Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira and a cover by Howard Porter, hits shelves on 9/22.
https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2020-06/DC/speedmetal.jpg
It’s the drag race from hell! Taking place after the events of Dark Nights: Death Metal #3, the Darkest Knight is after Wally West and his Dr. Manhattan powers. Thankfully, Wally has back-up in the form of Barry Allen, Jay Garrick, and Wallace West! It’s a knockdown, drag-out race through the Wastelands as the Flash Family tries to stay steps ahead of the Darkest Knight and his Lightning Knights!
Death Metal: Death Metal: Multiverse's End #1, written by James Tynion IV with art by Juan Gedeon and a cover by Michael Golden, hits shelves 9/29.
https://buzzpreview.buzzcomics.net/2020-06/DC/multiverse.jpg
Perpetua, mother of all existence, has culled all life and creation in the Multiverse, condensing all beings to one planet: Earth Prime. In her quest for power and dominance, she rules absolutely and in totality, using her children—the Monitors and Anti-Monitors—as her heralds and destructors. But a group of heroes has banded together across multiple worlds in a last-ditch effort to stop her from destroying all of existence: Owlman, President Superman, Iris West, Captain Carrot, Guy Gardner and others choose to make their final stand in a battle they’re destined to lose!

Light the Bat-signal, because Detective Comics #1027 is headed your way this September 15! In honor of Batman’s first appearance in Detective Comics #27 on March 30, 1939, this special 144-page celebration is poised to truly spotlight the “Detective” in Detective Comics. Batman and his allies will have a mountain of mysteries to solve, taking them from the seediest corners of Gotham City to the farthest reaches of the DC universe, plus a few early hints at what’s in store for the future of the Caped Crusader!
A book of this magnitude deserves the best storytellers in comics and a must-read lineup of DC’s most prolific writers and artists are rising to meet the challenge, including Greg Rucka/Eduardo Risso, Grant Morrison/Chris Burnham, Tom King/Walt Simonson, James Tynion IV/Riley Rossmo, Peter J. Tomasi/Brad Walker, Dan Jurgens, Marv Wolfman/Emanuela Lupacchino and Bill Sienkiewicz, Brian Michael Bendis/David Marquez, Mariko Tamaki/Dan Mora, Scott Snyder/Ivan Reis, Kelly Sue DeConnick/John Romita Jr and Klaus Janson, and Matt Fraction/Chip Zdarsky.
“Detective #1027 has been a massive undertaking, and I’m really excited for fans to see what editors Paul Kaminski and Dave Wielgosz have in store come September,” said Ben Abernathy, Batman Group Editor. “A great combination of writers and artists are putting in their best work on the book and fans should pay close attention to these stories, since some of them will plant the seeds for both Batman’s future and that of the DC universe.”
“Which stories? You’ll have to wait until September 15 to find out!”
Detective Comics #1027 also includes “tribute” art from fan-favorite artists, including José Luis García-López, Jamal Campbell, Lee Bermejo and Jorge Jiménez, among others. An extensive variant cover program is planned for this landmark issue, including a series of ten variants spotlighting both friends and foes of Batman, and an extensive program of retailer exclusive variant covers.
Detective Comics #1027 arrives at open and operating comic book stores and participating digital retailers beginning Tuesday, September 15, 2020. This must-have collectible sells for $9.99.

He’s seen teammates blow up and countries fall. He’s faced down heroes and villains alike. Now the Suicide Squad has one final mission: bring down the man who enslaved them, then put a bounty on their heads when they escaped: Ted Kord. But to finish the job, the world’s deadliest assassin will have to do the one thing he’s never done for the cause: die!

Apparently the separation will be civil.
Diamond Comic Distributors announced Friday - one week after the bombshell news DC was discontinuing their relationship with the distributor after June 23 - that they’ve reached an agreement to extend some aspects of their working relationship with the publisher temporarily.
For Direct Market comic book retailers in the U.S., Diamond and DC have extended their agreement to fulfill reorders of in-stock comic periodicals previously offered for sale, fulfilling reorders through July 31.

First Chapter of DC’s Newest Digital First Series Available Now
Future Chapters to Feature Stories by Harley Quinn Co-creator Paul Dini, Eisner Award-Winners Saladin Ahmed, Erica Henderson and Joe Quinones, Fan-Favorite Team of Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti and Chad Hardin, Along with Comics’ Most Dynamic Storytellers
DC proudly announces the launch of its newest Digital First series, Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red! Publishing each Friday and spanning 14 chapters, this digital series is an anthology of standalone stories told in the vein of the classic Batman: Black & White. The first chapter is available for purchase now on participating digital platforms, including readdc.com, Comixology, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and more.
Each chapter of Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red will be told in traditional black and white with the color red utilized in unique ways throughout each of the individual stories. The debut chapter of the Digital First series is “Harleen: Red” by writer/artist Stjepan Šejić with lettering by Gabriela Downie. Set in the world of Šejić’s New York Times bestselling graphic novel Harleen, this story hints at a “red” that will have meaning only to Harley Quinn!
“Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red is a great addition to our Digital First lineup,” said Hank Kanalz, SVP of Publishing Strategy & Support Services. “Each story stands on its own, and this series gives our talent teams the freedom and flexibility to tell innovative stories that could be part of or separate from regular continuity. Everyone has a unique vision for Ms. Quinn—it'll be fun to see what their creativity delivers.”
Future chapters will feature a fan-favorite lineup of talent, including Harley Quinn co-creator Paul Dini; the team of Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Chad Hardin; Saladin Ahmed and Javier Rodriguez; Tim Seeley and Juan Ferreyra; Erica Henderson, Daniel Kibblesmith, and more to come throughout the run. And Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red is also the DC writing debut for several acclaimed illustrators! Artists Mirka Andolfo (DC Comics: Bombshells), Dani (The Low, Low Woods), Joe Quinones (Dial H for Hero), and Riley Rossmo (Martian Manhunter) are all developing chapters written in their own voice, paired with art in their distinct styles.
“This is such a cool series with killer art,” said Mark Doyle, DC Executive Editor. “Senior Editor Chris Conroy had the idea to riff on the classic Batman: Black & White series but to do it with Harley in that irreverent, fun way that only Harley can do—and DC Digital First seemed like the perfect format to tell these stories.”
Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red promo art is by Jorge Jiménez.
Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red’s first chapter, with story and art by Stjepan Šejić and lettering by Gabriela Downie, is available now. Subsequent digital chapters of Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red will publish weekly on Fridays through its 14-chapter run. Andolfo’s story will publish July 3, Ahmed and Rodriguez’ collaboration will publish on July 10, and Seeley and Ferreyra’s chapter will publish on July 17 to round out the first month of the series.

Rien à foutre du numérique... :ouin:
