John Constantine will join DC's Sandman Universe titles - first with a one-shot, then an ongoing series. On October 30, The Sandman Universe Presents Hellblazer #1 by writer Simon Spurrier and artist Marcio Takara will induct the character into the Neil Gaiman-curated group of titles - followed afterward by a John Constantine, Hellblazer ongoing by Spurrier and artist Aaron Campbell beginning in November.
"Year One was just the start. Now you get to inhabit the worlds, books, and houses we built for you," Gaiman said. "I was thrilled when I was told that John Constantine - the original, demon-haunted one who first showed up in Swamp Thing’s 'American Gothic' story - is coming back to his murky and dangerous roots. More magic and more darkness and not a few gods and dreams are here for you to explore."
Picking up from a story element in the original 1990 Books of Magic limited series co-written by Gaiman, The Sandman Universe Presents Hellblazer #1 begins as "John Constantine finds himself haggard, bloody, and dying in an epic magical war - a battle that will soon consume the world," as reads DC's press release. "As he lies there, the vision of a young Tim Hunter stands above him, the naive youth seeing firsthand what his destiny holds. Horrified, Hunter flees back into the past, and Constantine is left behind to die."

Constantine's story continues years later as the warlock hears about a new young magician named Tim Hunter - with the Bellblazer worrying that history will repeat itself.

Ever since John Constantine slunk from Alan Moore’s brain into Swamp Thing, dropping secrets like grenades, bewildering vegetables, and spinning mysteries, I’ve been drawn to his misadventures with eerie gravity," said Spurrier. This will come out ahead of DC Kids' planned The Mystery of the Meanest Teacher: A Johnny Constantine Graphic Novel – by writer Ryan North and artist Derek Charm, due out in 2020 or 2021.

The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage, Lemire, Cowan, and Sienkiewicz will explore a version of the titular hero who dies and is reincarnated over and over in his home of Hub City.
"Going all the way back to the Steve Ditko version, you have this man who’s so connected to his society, but at its heart, the stories were always existential and about searching for identity," Lemire explained of his take on the character. "There’s so much angst in society right now that stems from people not being able to see things from one another’s perspectives, and so a character like the Question can almost start off as a cipher who goes on a journey that brings shades of grey into his world as his story unfolds."

Joker: Killer Smile will focus on Joker upending the life of an Arkham mental health professional - but not Harley Quinn. Instead Joker's target will be a new character, Dr. Ben Arnell, created by Lemire and Sorrentino for the series.
"To be honest, the Joker’s never been a character that I’ve exactly had a deep connection with and a longstanding craving to write a story about, but I love telling stories with Andrea that illustrate the psychological landscape of the character’s we’re focusing on," Lemire told i09 of the series' inception.
"And so, when the Joker came out, the idea of exploring the metaphorical, surreal, and psychological landscape that a Joker story could exist in, that was the starting point that got me excited. I didn’t want to be too heavy-handed or one-to-one with what happens in our story being a reflection of the real world today, but there are elements of chaos and fear in Killer Smile that I think are running rampant right now in our society, politically and socially."
Editor Chris Conroy identified the two stories as 'album-format' titles on Twitter, though no series length has been specified.
Joker: Killer Smile #1 is due out October 30, followed by The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage #1 on November 20.

Je voulais dire plutôt dans le sens où ils sont partout comme Deadpool y'a pas si longtemps chez Marvel.

Peut être voulait il parler d'une certaine omniprésence de ces deux personnages ? Ou bien de retour systématique de ce bad guy qui est devenu ultra violent en plus.
Deadpool j'aime pas non plus.
Question Batman, heureusement qu'il a encore assez souvent de très bons dessinateurs, sinon son omniprésence m'aurait déjà lassé complet.
Donc, le Joker serait plus un Wolverine? Mouais, pas convaincu non plus. C'est un vilain central du DCU, ça serait reprocher trop d'apparitions de Doom chez Marvel.

Trop d apparitions ? Ne lisant que quelques titres je n ai pas ce sentiment (pas assez d argent, pas assez de temps, pas assez d interet)... le coté guest star récurrent ne me gene au final que lorsque c est mal écrit (savage avengers pr exemple)

Peut-être pas Wolvie mais je trouve qu'il est devenu trop violent, mais bon y a pas que lui, tout est plus visuel je trouve, un peu de surenchère, plus sombre. Et puis, autant je peux encore lire du Batman (parce que plus présent que lui tu meures), autant sa némésis me gonfle. C'est comme ça.
Concernant Doom, ça fait un bout de temps que le souverain de Latvérie me saoule. ;)

Juste une lassitude de voir revenir sans cesse Soeur Sourire, c'est tout.
Surtout que globalement, depuis Heath Ledger et Scott Snyder, le joker est devenu complètement ininterressant !

Sinon, pas de problème que les gens expriment leur avis, je ne suis juste pas d'accord, j'aurais très bien pu développer mais pas l'envie.
J'ai essayé de discuter de cela avec Esseji l'autre jour de son rejet des titres Snyder, ça m'a bien coupé l'envie d'argumenter plus que de raison.

J imagine. J en resterai là, c est juste que je trouvais ça un peu violent comme post et que je trouve que ça n est pas le genre de la maison ;)
Pour Snyder, je n'aime pas sa façon de gérer ses intrigues, et son petit côté gore, c'est rien de plus.
J'avais déjà une méfiance à partir de American Vampire et ça s'est confirmé au point que je n'achète plus rien de lui.
Après sur le Joker, c'est une telle boule de glaise que chaque auteur en fait ce qu'il veut, avec plus ou moins de réussite. C'est d'ailleurs cet aspect que Johns a semblé comprendre, et j'ai hâte de lire son analyse.

Je pensais plus à la différence de style en fait.. Carpenter d'un côté comme réa de films de genre plutôt sombre et glauque et de l'autre le bordel coloré et bien concon de Borderlands.
Mais effectivement, les mediums se mélangent de plus en plus et pour le coup, ce n'est pas non plus idiot qu'un mec crossmedia comme Carpenter soit au milieu.

Oui FPS SF/post apo à la mad max mais complètement con, avec un humour débile et un univers décalé, des méchants qui meurent en disant "je reverrais plus Maman" ou "c'est pas du jeu, mon flingue s'est enrayé".. ce genre de conneries. C'est cool dans le genre.. mais effectivement l'assos avec Carpenter est intriguante quand même :D

Ensuite, Lois Lane qui vire psychopathe dans ce Dark Multiverse...je sais pas, j'ai aucune envie de voir ce personnage devenir une tueuse et puis DC en mode violent, j'apprécie toujours pas.

The Authority on Superhero Comics Get Into Batman’s Head…and Grave
Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, one of the most legendary creative partnerships in modern comic book history, reunite this fall for The Batman’s Grave, a twelve-issue monthly DC maxi-series about life, death and the questions most are too afraid to ask. The team that brought us The Authority now turn their talents towards The World’s Greatest Detective, whose current case forces him to inhabit the mind of a murder victim with a half-eaten face—without filling the empty grave next to those of his parents.
But first, Ellis and Hitch get into the mind of a butler. Once a week, rain or shine, Alfred Pennyworth walks to a little cemetery plot in the Wayne Manor grounds. He meticulously tends to Thomas and Martha’s headstones, plinths and slabs: weeding, cleaning, polishing. But how much longer before there’s another Wayne memorial to tend to?
“My very first work at DC was two issues of Legends of the Dark Knight,” begins Ellis, “so it’s been twenty-five years since I did a full-length story with the Batman. I’ve decided to revisit the crime scene where my career in American comics began, and I’m so grateful that my old comrade Bryan Hitch is doing this midnight run with me. It’s been too many years since we last did a long campaign together.”
Within this dynamic duo’s new comic lives a Batman with an almost psychotic identification with murder victims. He immerses himself in their lives and obsesses over every detail of their deaths. Even as Batman would process the evidence and approach the perpetrator from one side, he would live inside the life of the victim as they approached their death.
“I’ve drawn some covers and used Batman in Justice League and JLA,” continues Hitch, “but since I read Jim Aparo and Don Newton’s Batman runs in the 80’s I’ve wanted to do a proper, big Batman story. Fellow Authoritarian Warren Ellis had one to tell, so when he mentioned it I said ‘yes’ before even asking what it was about. That’s what you do when Warren says ‘I’ve got a proper, big Batman story.’ It’s been over twenty years since we changed Superhero comics together, and now we get to give Batman the fight of his life.”
The Batman’s Grave #1, written by Warren Ellis with art by Bryan Hitch and Kevin Nowlan, debuts in comic book stores and online retailers on Wednesday, October 9 with a cover by Hitch and a variant cover by JeeHyung Lee. When the new series launches on October 30, 2019, Black Canary’s life has spiraled out of control: her personal life is going through the wringer and her band is in crisis. An old flame resurfaces only to flicker out and set Dinah on an all-new mission against an all-new opponent: Las Esposas de la Muerte. The only thing Dinah can be grateful for is the fact that she’s not alone, as Huntress finds herself on a collision course with Black Canary’s quarry at Detective Montoya’s urging. J ai pas lu de Harley depuis New 52 donc si les scenari d Azzarello sont sympas je me vois mal refuser de m y intéresser a cause d un personnage du casting :) en fait le caractère fatigue c est comme l event fatigue : a moins de lire l integralité des productions Marvel ou DC on ne la ressent guere IMO

Anyway, at the DC Publishers Panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, DC Comics publisher Dan DiDio answered questions about the character’s future. Stating that DC Comics is going to put Wally through the wringer, again, in the upcoming series Wally West: Flash Forward, and that this mini-series by Scott Lobdell. Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund will kick off a major event in 2020 for DC Comics.

Si Hitch est inspiré par Aparo et Don Newton (et le dessin de Batman dans le lien montre l'influence de Newton) et scénarisé par Ellis, c'est un Batman que je suis prêt à lire.
Adam Strange: je remarque que l'on ne voit pas les visages des habitants de Rann dans le dessin de Shaner. Ils lui tournent le dos. Avec Tom King, j'ai l'impression que le pitch va être Adam Strange est un combattant étranger importé d'une race violente inférieure (les Terriens) qui protège des Ranniens pacifiques, genre Rome antique quand les Romains payaient les Germains ou Etats-Unis avec une armée noire. Une façon d'analyser les civilisation "avancées" et les notions de défense et de guerre.
Les images de Strange Adventures me rappellent pas malla mini-série format Prestige "Adam Strange". La société de Rann y est décadente et le héros pas vraiment apprécié. Ils avaient gardés le même ton à l'époque d'Infinite Crisis avec les séries 52 (partie spatiale), Adam Strange, Countdown to Adventure, Rann/Thanagar Holy War et Strange Adventures

Oui, c'est bien ça. Mark Waid a scénarisé quatre épisodes (de mémoire) de la JLA de Grant Morrison pour le laisser finaliser DC One Million.
Waid utilise deux de ces épisodes pour amener la JLA sur Rann, où il est révélé qu'Adam Strange a collaboré avec des extraterrestres télépathes (au design proche de Mars Attacks, d'ailleurs) après qu'ils aient ressuscité Alanna, afin de contrôler Rann. Adam manipule la JLA avec Martian Manhunter pour contrer les ennemis, et finit par être ramené sur Terre... en attendant un nouveau rayon pour retrouver les siens.
Le nouveau volume de Wildcats par Warren Ellis et Ramon Villalobos est repoussé aux calendes grecques.
