Là tu me fait un mauvais procès car je parle jamais de ce que j'aime pas étant donné que je suis persuadé que si j'aime pas ça vient probablement de mon humeur sur le moment et non pas des auteurs. J'ai jamais dénigré un scénariste ou un dessinateur. Le jour où je me permettrai de critiquer négativement un comic se sera le jour où je serai capable de faire mieux. Alors oui bien sur je pourrai passer mes journées à dégueuler sur untel ou un autre dont je comprends pas la demarche artistique mais non je suis pas comme ça je préfère parler de mes coups de cœur.

Quand je pense qu'il fut un temps dans mon adolescence où papa Kubet me laissait totalement indifférent alors que c'est juste un génie qui va droit à l'essentiel,et ave talent!

Quand à Everett,encore un qui n'a pas le statut qu'il mériterait,à mon goût....comme l'a écrit Aymeric,son trait était "élégant" et surtout,c'etait l'un des anciens qui n'avaient pas à rougir face à ses collègues plus jeunes;quand il était revenu sur Namor à la fin des 60's(ou ds les 70's-me souvient plus)son style ne faisait pas "ancien"(Comme Burgos,par exemple..)

Moi, petit, c'était Blevins sur lequel j'avais du mal (surtout après Guice). Et maintenant je regrette de ne pas l'avoir plus apprécié.

J'ai un pote,(inscrit ici mais il vient rarement: Fenris 17000)tellement fan de Byrne qu'il a à peu près tous ses comics en VO dans sa collection,est très mitigé sur ce numéros,n'ayant pas aimé l'encrage.

Depuis,il voue une haine farouche pour Bob Mac Leod^^

Oui,il est de ces encreurs à la main lourde....justement,j'évoquais Sal Buscema plus haut qui avait dessiné la série pour remplacer Mac Leod mais ce dernier était resté pour l'encrer (en bref,il ne tenait pas le rythme pour dessiner lui-même la série) et c'était pareil:on reconnaissait bien les figures typiques de Buscema mais un néophyte ou un étourdi (ou même qq'un qui se fout des crédits) n'y aurait pas vu la différence avec Mac Leod

There were a few others I was considering of adding, but had to exclude due to space.

All costumes redesigned to some extent. It was definitely a key goal to make all their body and facial structures, hair styles, how they hold their body, carry themselves, etc all match the characters and be different. i really tried to take into consideration their personality and what their main use in operations.

I’d Love to work on a S.H.I.E.L.D. book with this as the cast. with occasional steve, bucky, dum dum guest starring.

Kate. Diana. Eve. Scandal. and Renee.


This started a few weeks ago from an idea I had when talking to a co-worker of mine at Nickelodeon. She and I were remarking how big fans we were of Kate and Diana and that lead to my realization that I would love to do a book with them, plus Eve.
From there I added Starling, because I remembered how much I loved her and the Secret Six.
and Renee, cause when Greg Rucka says a team needs Renee, you better add Renee.
Each costume was redesigned a bit too.
I made Kate a bit more formal. Heavily influenced by Yasmin Liang’s (http://www.yazmeanie.com)design.
Diana is more or less just a tweak of my older design. I definitely wanted to keep the Greco Roman Grappler aspect of her. More Wrestler than like a knight. I also wanted to give her a short hair cut, but she ended up looking better with an epic mane of hair.
Eve more or less is the same. I gave her a cage corset, just cause i like cage dresses. Made her slightly more fashionable.
Scandal I just wanted her too look more Ninja. nothing too large of a change. just some taste stuff.
and Renee, also didn’t have too much of a change, just gave her a bit more of a designed coat, rather than just a regular suit.

Je suis moins fan des dessins pour le coup, je trouve qu'il y a un manque de détails un peu trop prononcés, après ça vient peut-être de leurs postures par exemple. Je ne sais pas. J'aime bien le look de certains personnages, mais après il manque un petit quelque chose, je ne sais pas. Les propos sont intéressants en tout cas. Merci à toi pour la découverte en tout cas.

Chris and Weezie fail to laugh and latch on to it immediately (d’oh!) I argue as best I can but, my run is essentially over. My vote doesn’t count. Weezie says (and this is pretty much a quote) “We’re going to get hung no matter what we do. We may as well commit the murder.” Stuck with the mohawk, I do my best to make it work. Once the style is set, I determine she needs leathers to pull it off. Punk Storm is born.

Moi je trouve çà fascinant. Le puritanisme Américain (des Etats-Unis) en prend un bon coup, c'est bien.
Ce puritanisme qui n'est qu'un leurre politique et sociologique, puisque la plus grosse entreprise de films Adult est bien là bas.
La provocation remet les pendules à l'heure. J'aime çà.
De plus les enfants ne lisent plus de comics superhéros.

J'ai fait du dessin sur plusieurs sessions, mais j'ai aussi fait une conférence sur Alex Ross aussi. Alex Ross, les Etats Unis, la mythologie américaine et la communication publicitaire des peintres classiques américains. Les inspis du bon vieil Alex Ross quoi!

Dégustons et pleurons!

Now here's a real treat. Back in the '80's, Barry Windsor-Smith started work on a Thing graphic novel that was never finished or published.
Well, last week, pal of this here blog Mark Frazer sent me scans of the 48 pages known to exist.
After I picked my jaw back up off the floor, I uuhmed and aahed about whether I could actually legally post the piece, until I decided, what the hell, let's just ask the man himself.
As you can see, Barry is happy for us to see this lost masterpiece, so here it is!
Obviously the art's magnificent ( and of course all art is copyright Barry Windsor-Smith / BWS 2018 ), but I actually think it's one of the best things BWS has written too.
It's the ever lovin' blue eyed one, as you know him, but from an angle you've never seen before.
